Yes, but for I've always got better results with at least 3 exposures. I've tried some with more than 3, but Canon only does 3 exposures with bracketing (I think Nikon does 7). So I had to manually do something like -3,-2,-1,0,+1,+2,+3

Admittedly not the best use of the technique, I was curious how an indoor shot like this would turn out though.

And if you were wondering, those are Tinker Toys up the the corner on top of the cabinets - you can also see, by their location, how often I use them (never - to the despair of my students who want to build things).

They wouldn't be bad for some simple machine lessons.
lol @ the picture with COLLEGE on it. is that some kind of academic tease, as in "here's somewhere you'll never get to go to, unless it's on a basketball scholarship"? some of your school-related anecdotes suggest this may be the case...

Wow tnf, your HDR series seems to be coming along very dramatically while your real life images seem to suck. I wish I could help you but all I can say is learn post processing.

And while I still don't know shit while I shoot and post, very little post processing was done to this series of shots. Tho I do see that I flubbed one shot with white balance, but even tho I don't like its yellowish tint, it came out well.

No tubes on a 60 mm..........

You looking at ME?

Looks away seeming uninterested.....

Women, Heebie Jeebies and Spiders........

For about two weeks this female Crab has been spinning webs and on the second notice in the day time I spied where she slept during the day. I wanted to take a shot but a sleeping crab is just not that interesting.....
However night after night she spins and I tried to get her, but to no avail as I needed a spotter with a flashlight so I could get a focus.
Tonight, I managed to get my wife to stand close enough with a flashlight in hand to get these two shots as she spun her web of love., so give her a round of applause....the wife I mean....

Self-righteous much? :olo:

Form, I don't post 99.9% of my real life images on here, save for a few wildlife shots, which I don't spend much time on at all and just post because I like the birds. Most of my 'real life' stuff is portrait work, which I won't be putting up here, on flickr, etc. etc. I crop them, don't spend time on golden ratios or rules of thirds unless I am in the mood, push the 'frame' action button just because its there, and maybe quickly do a curves adjustment if its totally washed out or something. These shots aren't intended to be critiqued. You seem to like subtly indicating that you've got all the answers. Perhaps you do. They just haven't been asked for lately and aren't really desired here.

And I am already getting paid for those real life images of people, getting recommendations, have been working actively with real professionals on post-processing and having them critique my images in a very deliberate and blunt fashion. Sorry I haven't been coming to you for that help, but after seeing their work I decided to hit them up for advice. So, don't worry about that unfulfilled wish to help. I've got enough sources of that at this point. I picked up a DSLR for the first time last December. Didn't shoot HDR until a few months ago. Have sold 3 large HDR prints (not to family or friends - no mercy sales here). Not that 3 is a big number, but I'm happy with the progress at this point. Don't worry either, I'm still not getting cocky.

Oh, and if you have the EXIF data for those mantis shots, I'd be interested in seeing them. Great detail.

Some shots from Labor Day weekend at Wallowa Lake in Oregon. Huge mountains made for some great scenery.

This bridge crosses the Grande Ronde river near the Oregon and Washington border. The drive down to the bridge and back up from it is incredible - severely winding roads cutting back and forth down and then back up a pretty substantial canyon.
Image

The town of Joseph, OR is about 5 minutes from the campground and is a tourist area with galleries, pubs, etc. Bronze work is extremely popular here - there are 3 foundries in the town. This is one of the statues on the street:

Wow, you guys don't seem to have any of the advanced teaching technologies (document scanner, digital projector, assisted listening, wirless mic/receiver, etc.)
