Re: PHOTOS PLEASE
Thanks very much guys, here's one more picture I worked on today that I've had on my computer for about a month now. This is taken inside the padded cell of a derelict mental asylum. It's not me in the picture, it's just a model..

Re: PHOTOS PLEASE
Stunning shots
The one with the crib is eerie, especially with that painting on the wall. Was that taken in an abandoned house or what?

Re: PHOTOS PLEASE
Yeahso -what determines the camera you choose to use for a given shoot? I see you used the 50D, 5dmkII, and 450D. Anything specific that goes into a decision as to which camera is used when?

Re: PHOTOS PLEASE
It's the Royal Bank of Scotland in London. It was during the G20 riots in April. I was at the front and managed to get some great shots of the police and rioters.Chupacabra wrote:whats the background on this shot?Yeahso wrote:Few more:

Re: PHOTOS PLEASE
Merely the lens. I'd rather just have two or three bodies on me than have to keep switching. If I could justify it, I'd just have three 5D2's. The 450D won't be with me in it's present state much longer though, I'm having it converted to infrared.tnf wrote:Yeahso -what determines the camera you choose to use for a given shoot? What's your opinion on the higher ISO performance of the 50D? I'm fairly disappointed in this thing's performance for anything above ISO 200.Yeahso wrote:Merely the lens. The 5dMkII is on the distant horizon for me. And now Canon has the 7D coming out - I will never understand their numbering system as the 7D is the upgrade to the 50D, not the 5D...oh well.
Re: PHOTOS PLEASE
The numbers work backwards on Canons. The closer to 1, the better the camera. The dropped the zero of the 7D because it bridges the gap between the 50D and the 5D and is a prosumer crop sensor lens.
50D is ISO performance is OK, I'll use it up to 1000 providing there are no strong red tones in the scene.

Re: PHOTOS PLEASE
Very nice DB. That cemetery one is awesome.
I see some post-processing issues though.
Form will let you know what they are.

Re: PHOTOS PLEASE
yeah, i see the banding and i forgot to clone out the photomatrix stamp. tbh, i couldn't be bothered and apertures adjustments can be like a sledgehammer to crack a nut.
Re: PHOTOS PLEASE
oh, and cheers tnf. one more to add.

Re: PHOTOS PLEASE
i like that cemetery one
some random shots from town. covered market:

and now some attempts at visual irony. the radcliffe camera (which is a camera in the old sense, i.e. light is reflected in through those small windows on top of the dome into a room where they form a panoramic mosaic of the surrounding view on the floor):

also gotten into taking pictures of reflections, in this case that of a girl framing a shot. all very self-referential and shit...
