Do someone of you know where i can find this mod??
I mean, i already did a mod porting quake 4 sounds into Q3... the item models is the thing i want now... just look at that armor!!! i have searched everywhere without luck, i hope someone knows <3

I don't know myself. But i suspect he just made it for fun and personal use. Have you tried contacting this guy on utube?

I wouldn't bother with it if I were you. Some reasons:

1 - You can't use these sounds/models when playing on an online server that doesn't have those sounds as well. This basically means you'll have different sounds when playing online as when playing offline.

2. Sound is much more important than you think. A different set of sounds can give a completely different feel to a game. IMO using sounds other than the original Q3 sounds unbalances the feel of the game.

3. Again, sound is more important than you think. Recognizing sounds and knowing what they mean gives you an edge over your opponent (if he doesn't). Using new sounds means you have to learn to recognize all those sounds all over again. This is especially confusing when you have to continually switch between sound sets when playing online and offline.

4. If those are Quake 4 sounds and models, then I'm not sure how legal it actually is to port them directly over to Quake 3, if you care about that sort of thing.

Agreed. Sound is delicate but I think I recognise these sounds. *goes to check my archive* :D

I think the sounds are copied over from Q4.

I have nearly everything changed..took stuff out of mods like DuelX and CPMA..stripped the HQ mod. Changed a ridiculous amount sounds, projectiles.. Took sounds from Q2, and Team Arena..like Pi, Fritzkrieg, James, Janet, and Callisto. Changes the Announcer sound and a bunch of other stuff. It's like an 80MB file to cover all of the things up.

Anybody would love it, but no one would ever be able to figure out what sound goes to what. I've been building it for the last 6 years, so I know what everything is....and it's only in my Icculus set-up(which I use for Online more than Q3. I have my Q3 Folder normal for online play, but I swear I wouldn't play Q3 if it sounded like that still...it's just ick, very low quality compared to what my set-up is. I swear my set-up is award(to me). I'll be playing this game long after everyone stops..and I hope that I'll always be able to locate computers in the future that it'll run on.

The one above in the YouTube doesn't even come near mine...some of it's interesting though. I won't put it up for download though! It's all mine. :D ..cause it would be so terribly illegal :paranoid:

Vintage q3 sounds are low quality compared to q4? Haven't noticed.

I can see why ppl would think it's fun or something but i agree with eraser on this part. Only thing i ever had different is the announcer.

I would prefer some vintage q3 sounds over quake live sounds btw. There's a small but noticeable difference in the powerup announcements. Just a bit less awesome then the oldskool 'QUAD DAMAGE'

When I say low quality..I mean that they don't sound or look as well as what I have. I collect everything for Q3 from it's mods, skins, maps, etc. I usually seperate the best things from everything whether I even touch them or not. I haven't touched anything from Q4..as I have kind of hated the game for how it killed the Q3 scene for a while there. It is a good game graphically. I wish that I knew how to remake the weapons skins to Q3 though..as I love them nonetheless.

The announcer voice was completely redone in Quake Live I think.
