The chimp wasn't hers, it belonged to a neighbour. The neighbour had given the chimp mood altering drugs that morning, so that should give you an idea of the level of moranitude involved.

Funnily enough, the chimp was involved in a public incident that held up traffic a few years ago, and because of that incident, the state passed a law limiting exotic pet size. They didn't retroactively apply it to this chimp though because the owners had him for ages and they didn't think he was a danger.

As mentioned, it wasn't her chimp and she didn't do anything to agitate it. The owner fed it mood altering drugs and the chimp was behaving erratically all morning. The owner called the victim over to help her get the chimp under control.
