Install help
Oh hi,
I have an old P3 Dell (Dimension 4100) with Windows 2000 installed. Windows 2000 is on a domain so i can't get past the login screen.
There seems to be no BIOS other than an intel boot screen with four options. the options for boot will not change and only allow "boot from BIOS settings".
I've looked for the BIOS info but found nothing, there just doesn't seem to be a way to open it, if there is one.
question is, how can i install XP on this thing?
TIA.

Re: Install help
Yeah, XP will install on it. If its sluggish then just turn down the graphics options once its installed. As ar as the BIOS goes, I assume you've tried pressing the usual ones while booting (Delete, F2, F10, F12)? If not, one of those might get ya into the BIOS.
Re: Install help
i know if will install, the problem is i can't get to a stage to allow installation. everything's locked out and i've tried every button to bring up a normal BIOS.

Re: Install help
Which key did it end up being to get into the BIOS?
Re: Install help
it was an hidden option in the BIOS to hide the setup key on boot. the same option sets the setup key holding down the del key on power up.
never had a BIOS with the setup needing to hold a key down with power on.
