My Server

Post by fsad »

68.232.169.55:27960

Chicago, IL
Public
10 slots
CNQ3 1.43 Linux with CPMA 1.47
VQ3 only -- Duel, TDM, and FFA
Tons of maps (let me know if you want something added)

That last one is the reason I'm posting this here; I'm a bit of a map nut... and it's not easy to find people to play these maps with, so this is my attempt to remedy that. :) I'm still going through my collection and I'll be swapping maps to and from the server constantly (not all get listed with /maplist so trying to keep it within that limit). Anyway, if you feel like trying the server out, let me know how it goes.

In my experience, running a lot of custom content (such as maps) keeps players away from your server.

Obviously you can get away with running maps like ztn3dm1, which everybody has anyway, but if I'm stuck to downloading a new custom map after every match, then I'll quickly jump to a different server.

There's no map cycle, so it's up to the players to decide when to change and what to change to.

/cv mode
/maplist (maps listed depend on current mode)
/cv map

These files are required:

CPMA -- http://www.promode.ru/files/cpma147-nomaps.zip
CPMA Map Pack -- http://challenge-tv.com/index_old.php?m ... l&file=185

Hi fsad, welcome to the forums.

Check out the guys in Level Editing.... they should be pretty interested in your server if you're able to host some of their levels. We've had some custom map servers that we used for beta testing and general playtesting of levels in the past, and they were usually pretty popular as long as someone was running with the whole thing of switching the maps out and organising times to gather.

Best of luck
