Minimum respawn time

Hey,

I recently started playing quake 3 again and i was wondering if theres a command for a minimum respawn time.

Meaning a minimum amount of time that must elapse before a player is able to respawn. The context is a CTF game where defenders are respawning instantly, and infront of the attackers, making it difficult to capture the flag.

This seems a pretty basic feature to todays standards, but i could never find anything like it in quake 3 server command lists. Is there anyway to have such a feature?

Not in vanilla Q3 and (if I'm not mistaken) not in CPMA either. Some fringe mods have it as a feature, with the most well-known probably being InstaUnlagged but that is a instagib mod.

If you are technically inclined you could create your own mod. It isn't a difficult feature to implement.

Thats a shame, abit suprising as quake3 was/is a highly competitive game, no-one complained about it? ;) I guess i just need to harden up.

I stand corrected before i replied; i was gonna say g_respawndelay 1.7 in CPM but that was InstaU.
