I tried a couple of the Baltika beers. 9 and 7 it think it was. The 9 was ok, didn't care for the other. Probably won't ever get them again though.

Sapphire is good. I fixed a buddy's computer and he got me a bottle of Hendrick's. I'd never had it before. Pretty good.

Yeah, it's considered low budget, bottom of the barrel beer here. Probably only beaten by Schaefer and Schlitz for pure nastiness.

Does anyone remember this beer? Generic and 89 cents the six pack? *sigh* I'm showing my age with this post. 89 cent a six pack beer, cigarettes were 20 cents a pack and gasoline was 14 cents a gallon, those were the days

grolsch is some nasty poop, too.
oh, and hendricks > bombay. it doesn't taste as "ginny" (more cucumber than juniper), but i love that stuff.

not the biggest fan of gin. especially bombay. though, as a mixer, gin is bomb.com.

Bottled owns for the simple fact that I can wrap it in my bottle cooler and keep it chilled on the beach.

I stuck with Singha and Tiger after Chang gave me a few truly godawful hangovers... bottled it can indeed taste very strange. Almost like a slight chlorine aftertaste or something, i don't know. Learned to stay away from it fairly quick :)

there was an article in a recent issue of Bon Appetit magazine saying that american microbreweries are moving back toward cans. basically the old thing about canned beer tasting metallic hasn't been true in decades (since they stopped soldering tin cans with lead) and opaque aluminum cans stop UV light better than bottles (even brown ones). they're also cheaper to make and ship, and are more easily recycled. people just assumed canned beer tasted like shit because only the US megabreweries could afford the relatively expensive canning equipment... and their beer was shit even before it was packaged.

some beers mentioned recently in this thread available in cans: fat tire and brooklyn lager.

I've heard that as well. And regardless, if you are drinking beer, you should be enjoying it in a glass. Unless you are tailgating or something...

Never had any hangovers, even with a shitload of vodka tonics and spliffs on top. Quite like Singha and Tiger too, they're a bit more expensive though.

Hmm, now that you mention it, i think my only hangovers there were Chang related. Not sure how true it is, but someone told me Chang lacks quality control of any kind... so maybe i just had bad luck and hit a rotten batch or something.
