The Fourth Kind.

Pretty terrible.
Trying to get all serious, including a pretentious disclaiming introduction and extroduction, "these are the facts, believe what you want," etc. bla.
Yeah, I believe this is another hoax movie, riding on the shirttails of (slightly) superior movies like Blair Witch and Paranormal Activity. Fuck off.
"Real footage" my ass.

Also, Milla Jovovich is getting uglier by the minute :(

Pandorum = 6/10 - Meh. Sorta entertaining...I guess. Once it got past the 2/3rds mark it just turned gay. I watched this after o'dium mentioned it...so I guess I'll just have to kill his family.

Salem's Lot (the original) = 7/10 - I hadn't seen this in a while. Looks dated but still some really creepy scenes.

Guess it's just the discrepancy between movie hot and IRL hot.
Still wouldn't mind a bit of of Milla, but the 5th Elemt wow-factor has gone a bit.

EDIT: Also, not shirttails but coattails

No covert PM shite required.
Pandorum is just Event Horizon-lite.
End of story.

The International - 4/10

Very slow-paced and boring, even Clive Owen couldn't save it.

Wouldn't mind catching Con Air, I hear theres a decent DC out of it, too.

I watched Case 39 last night, not a bad little thriller. Stunk of "American" though, with a few really predictable plot points you can see from a clear mile away. Reminded me a lot of the ring. Plus I couldn't get over Renee Zellweger's face... Whats happened to it?

Con Air? :olo:

How can you people enjoy that film? Cage butchered it. He plays the exact same character in every film, except this one. And it's because of this film that we understand why...

Quite agreed. Just finished it a few days ago and and the storyline and character development were great. Looking forward to the third.

Old but awesome...did I already post this?
It's on TV here this week  Makin' sure I record to view again, as I saw it some years ago, and watch it every time it passes by. A great (old) scifi movie.

Yes, watched it last night. A little disappointing but Clooney still makes a great movie 7.5/10

in order to show how boring life on a WWII sub was, Wolfgang Petersen made an intensely boring movie. genius.
oh! but wait! the germans are the heroes! how 1982-edgy!
the production is very high quality for a german (in)action film made in 1982, i guess, and the acting is good. but there's no reason to sit through a 209min director's cut or (holy fuck) a 293min "uncut version." dear Wolfgang's editor: learn when to say no.

ps- the editor was Hannes Nikel, who edited the similar but under-three-hours Stalingrad.
pps- though Wolfgang Petersen was long said to be working on an adaptation of Ender's Game, it no longer appears to be on imdb. i guess he finally gave up when someone told him he couldn't just film kids picking their noses in a space station for 3 hours.
