i havent used this PC in over a yr, so i hook er up and problem is
my barton 2500+ reset itself to 1.1ghz - this i fixed
i had 2x512 pc3200 dual channel running @ 200mhz now it only recognizes 1x512 single chan
nothing was touched since i stopped using the pc over a yr ago and i've tested the ram and both work seperately and both are in the correct slots.
any ideas ?

Re: older PC prob
check bios settings for ram and play with that.
sounds like your bios reset to bios defaults.
i.e. dual channel mode

Look at Cpu-z ( http://www.cpuid.com ) and go under "spd" and scroll through the "Slot #1" drop down, and take a note what stick is being picked up.
Turn the computer off, and swap the sticks, and see if the report changes in CPU-Z..
That'll tell you if the issue is the RAM, or the mobo.

had the same board for a year that exhibited the same symptoms and then finally shit the bed, no vga/posting.
