It really wasn't all that good a movie. For serious. And the "sniper battle" felt tacked on and more than slightly retarded.GONNAFISTYA wrote:The Hurt Locker = 6/10 - I kept watching because I enjoy war movies with some intensity - which this movie has in abundance - but when this was over I felt it was a pointless film. Good performances but the cinematography and editing felt exactly like any Ridley/Tony Scott film and seemed forced...like they were trying to make a Ridley/Tony Scott clone. TBH I can't say if I recommend it unless you're a pro-America fascist who loves watching brown people die.

I fail to see where anyone here said the didn't like it. It wasn't a horrible movie but it certainly wasn't the best that came out this year.Big Kahuna Burger wrote:lol @ ppl who didn't like the hurt locker
Why don't you go ahead and elaborate on why you think it deserved the award?
Re: Hurt Locker wins both Best Director and Best Picture
Although I think Avatar arguably should have got Best Picture simply because it is such a landmark in cinema I can understand why the Academy didn't give it the nod. Cameron not receiving Best Director on the other hand was a complete joke. A film about Iraq and directed by a woman - that's the only reason it won so many awards. Fucking gay.

have to agree. i watched it straight after a second run thru 'generation kill' and it was a massive disappointmentGONNAFISTYA wrote:It really wasn't all that good a movie. For serious. Re: Hurt Locker wins both Best Director and Best Picture
Well...since BKB won't respond I'll just go ahead and assume that he thinks The Hurt Locker should win movie of the year because it makes him feel better and all warm inside because the movie portrays Americans actually doing something positive - ie winning battles - in Iraq.
Either that or he's a pro-America fascist who loves watching brown people die.
lol...what a fagg0t

Either you two hom0s are playing cock-tag on IRC or shaft has a script running that alerts him everytime I type "A-m-e-r-i-c-a".
TBH...I pretty much believe it's the latter.
