Re: FF 3.6 ?
use lastpass add-on. it'll autofill/autologin everytime. no need to type in your username and password anymore.

So... any reason FF3.6 is chugtastically slow? It's eating up 1,600,000k of memory... even Arkham Asylum didnt use that much when running. Only have facebook and q3w tabs open?
Re: FF 3.6 ?
Something is wrong with your Firefox. Mine doesn't go anywhere near that high on memory usage, about 65,000K. Check your extensions, one of them might have a memory leak.

Re: FF 3.6 ?
Aye, seems like it's the JRE :/
mmm.. I updated to the latest java but it's still sucking up 90k with only q3w open. Btter than 500+ but still way more than old FF! :/ Might downgrade for a bit...

Re: FF 3.6 ?
I've noticed that FF 3.6 has had an intermittent problem with YouTube links. Half the time I click a link to a YouTube page, the download dialogue pops up and if I cancel that the browser simply refuses to actually go to the YouTube page...it acts as if I didn't click the link at all.
Couple this with several new bugs and FF's continuing propensity to crash hard while using Facebook's chat and I'm starting to use IE 8 more and more.

Re: FF 3.6 ?
I haven't had any problems with Firefox at all.
Firefox 3.6.2, Windows 7 x64
Firefox 3.6.2, OS X 10.6.2
Firefox 3.6.2, Ubuntu 9.10 x64

Re: FF 3.6 ?
I hate the slow startup time and Chrome still seems faster (especially the autocomplete address bar).
Re: FF 3.6 ?
I use fb chat all the time and haven't had a crash. I only use a couple of add ons... do you think an add on would interfere?GONNAFISTYA wrote:I've noticed that FF 3.6 has had an intermittent problem with YouTube links. Re: FF 3.6 ?
From googling around a lot of people had been having BAD memory leaks (like mine over 160,000,000!) and updating to the latest JRE solved it.
No joy here though, it hasn't spiked as high as that since I updated, but it's still up at 500k...
edit: also there's apparently no official word or even a "we are aware of this problem and looking for a solution" etc from mozilla. Just lots and lots of notifications and no replies.

Re: FF 3.6 ?
The fucking thing crashes the instant someone sends a FB message. It crashes so fast I don't even get a chance to respond to the person who contacted me.Peenyuh wrote:I use fb chat all the time and haven't had a crash. I only use a couple of add ons... do you think an add on would interfere?
The only addons I use are Download Helper and Skype...and they're recent additions...FF was acting shit long before I installed the addons. In fact, FF was crashing with Facebook chat since version 3.0. I even tested Facebook's chat with FF on a completely fresh install on a completely new hard drive, so I'm more than positive that the problems have nothing to do with Addons at all. My tests have confirmed this several times and the fact that it crashed on a fresh install thoroughly convinced me that FF is/has been turning to shit.
TBH...I haven't been happy with FF since version 2.0...so that's a long time to be disappointed in a browser that isn't made by Microsoft.

TBH I haven't been impressed with Chrome at all. I've tried it several times and even wanted to switch to it (it's not like I actually want to use IE) but when it comes to Chrome...no thanks.+JuggerNaut+ wrote:Yes.

Re: FF 3.6 ?
The "normal" FF memory usage for me is around 400 MB (kinda fucking high to check my yahoo email if you ask me)vesp wrote:From googling around a lot of people had been having BAD memory leaks (like mine over 160,000,000!) and updating to the latest JRE solved it.
Any FF browser session that lasts more than 30 minutes turns into a memory hog and with a measly two tabs open FF will easily use anywhere from 600 MB to 1 GB of RAM. Closing tabs rarely lowers the memory usage at all. Even after I've closed the browser FF is still using a ton of memory and I have to task-kill to release the RAM usage.
Re: FF 3.6 ?
Mine hovers around 84 mb and stays there. 3.6.2
I'll leave it open all day and watch it to make sure, but every time I check it it's pretty low. No FB crashes at all either.
edit: with 4 tabs open it's sitting at 104.
