Indeed, that struck me as somewhat weak. Come on, how about some completely new maps?

Discovered a potentially map winning trick yesterday :D

You know those 30 seconds of breathing time you get in Rush when the enemy team pushed you back? Hop in a tank / Bradley / heavy MG and start chopping down trees and eliminating cover at the nearest chokepoint. Stops them right in their tracks that does, your team will just pick em off as they deperately try to get close :owned:

I'm loving Laguna Presa Rush. I wish they'd fix the voice comms, because it will REALLY help. I found that if you can get your squaddies to hold the high ground next to the mountain by the road ahead of the second set of M-Com stations when playing as defense on Laguna Presa you can stonewall the attackers. Problem is I can't easily tell anyone to do so, if they don't get it on their own it doesn't happen.

I'm seeing a fair bit of hacking, too, so I hope they get the PB filtering in the server browser sorted soon. Followed a guy last night that was on my team, being accused of using an aimbot. He had wayyyy too many kills and too few deaths for the way he was playing, and he a Russian skin. We were attackers on Laguna Alta, and you're always the Americans attacking on that map. I just quit the server. Well, I shot him in the back with a 40mm 'nade first, not much else I could do.

Spent some time consulting the interwebs for tips on the ingame voice chat, found this thread on the official forums:

Recieve is an Americanisation, I believe, and Dice are from Sweden, so they use British English. Therefore, this Recieve is spelt incorrectly, so change it to this -

VoipReceiveVolume=1.000000
This fix has been out for a while. It does work, now once you change it it will work for 1 round then the game updates and changes the gamesettings.ini file back. The way around this is when you save the file change it to read only and that will make the changes stand.
If it works... that would be nice.
Big wtf to Dice, silly things like this should be patched on day 1...

explenation is in the comment. The latest patch broke this fix, the next one (10-12th may) will apparently make it work again.

Not tested this myself as it doesn't really seem to affect my game in the first place... :paranoid:

I'll pass this along to my friend I usually frag with, so at least we can talk to each other.
I already implemented the hitbox fix, I have a fast connection and it worked very well. I'm just toying with ideal settings for my favorite servers. I still see some problems though, I emptied a full clip of magnum ammo from an M416 into an assault fag0t head on, while he was running straight at me and he didn't die. I forget what his health read after I died, but it was still rather high.

Now if they'd just unfuck the Logitech joystick support...
