What it seems like to me is that Locke needed a near death experience, like Desmond/Charlie did. I can't see him being part of Jacks process, I would think he would be Julliets...?

So... I think the black smoke monster has just become john locke in the alternate universe and I also suspect john locke on the island is no longer the smoke monster.... should be interesting...

I was thinking something along the lines of smokey being the one coming to Hurley as dead people. Maybe the problem isn't that Smokey is stuck as Jon Locke but stuck as anyone who died. Jacob manipulates through life, Smokey through death.
