Wrestling Entertainment

Post by Chupacabra »

Was watching the Apprentice the other day (I'm sure mixed feelings about the show) and Goldberg from, I think, WCW was on there.

I read up a little bit on him on wikipedia. I don't know anything about wrestling. Apparently Goldberg had some crazy win steak. How much of "fake" wrestling is real and how much is scripted? Did the organizers determine that he should have such a win-streak? Or was Goldberg's wrestling skills somehow involved?

so it's got nothing (or close to nothing) to do with goldberg's skill? they just chose him for whatever reason to have this massive kill streak and that was it?

i was thinking maybe its about who can last the longest in the ring. maybe even getting fake body slammed really takes it out of you.

Not even close to nothing. It's got absolutely nothing to do with his skill. If you want real, watch the UFC.

Wrestling = soap opera for male rednecks.
No, his streak had nothing to do with skill, it was all theater. Goldberg's a former NFL lineman and has some impressive physical attributes, as do most of those wrestlers. Plus, he's funny as shit.
Wrestling is indeed fake, but a lot of the injuries are real, and those guys are all in incredible (albeit steroid-enhanced) shape. Just don't try telling them that, because from what I've read, they don't like to break character very much.

I'm surprised Scott Steiner didn't get led into the ring by a trainer with a halter.

Used to like it when I was younger. Stone Cold and the Undertaker ftw. Mankind was usually pretty badass too.
