well i beat that two weeks ago with a 7m42s time... rowed a 5k today in 18m37.7s which was 50 seconds faster than my previous time, and then there was a free 6 point body fat percentage test at my friends gym and my number was 8.37% with 15lb of body fat, 164.2lb lean body mass.... that's me today at 6'1", 179lbs, usually 177 in the morning.

good day today.

does tnf still post?

is adding whey isolate to oatmeal a good idea? if i add it right after cooking the oatmeal, while it's still hot, will it denature the protein and strip it of its beneficial qualities?

i'm not sure about the temperature the oatmeal is at when i finish cooking it. if it's less than lets say 65C would it be ok? should i only add it when it's cool enough to eat?

Right then workout3world - it is later and here is my question.

I have been doing weights for my arms to try and tone my arms up. Now they seem to be building up in size and strength but they seem to be too big. Basically I look silly with lots of muscle and my overall shape ideally would be something like Brad Pitts in Snatch (no homo)

Image

Note his slim yet tones qualities

So how best to get this sort of shape on the go?

I think instead of lifting weights you need to lift your self-esteem and stop trying to be like brad pitt.

you're not going to look like Brad Pitt, but bodyweight exercises are an easy way to keep yourself toned

self esteem issues? I just want to learn how to build muscle that appears lean rather than bulky, hence the picture. I cant say I look at too many semi naked men and it was the only thing I knew to post that was the sort of thing I wanted to go for. So, lean muscle...

bodyweight exercises are easy to do, just clear a spot on the floor. You won't build mass and your muscles will tighten up and become more defined. You don't really need a strict diet, just a good one and make minor little adjustments here and there...for instance I substituted mayonnaise out of my diet for horseradish. I love tuna sandwiches and now I could live off tuna and horseradish sandwiches on whole wheat and life has become leaner, meaner, and spicier. Mmm and chicken breasts with a lot of chili powder and chives.

u can't build muscle and lose fat at the same time. if u want to be lean, eat less. if u want to build muscle, train and eat more. u can lose weight first and then build muscle afterwards.

That's what you get by doing weights for your arms and for nothing else, homo. Brad Pitt is just very skinny in snatch, he hardly has any size. If you want to look good, first build some healthy symmetric strength with squats, bench, pullups, deadlifts, etc. Then, lower your reps and up your weights when you want to cut down to getting skinny, keep your protein intake high and you shouldn't lose too much of your muscle.

lol, the ol' "I want to look like Brad Pitt" post. Probably the most consistently flamed topic ever created in bodybuilding forums on the internets.

If you want the Brad Pitt look then eat a low carb, low fat, moderate protein diet. Do at least 45 minutes cardio a day and weight train correctly (each bodypart once a week). Achieving low bodyfat while having minimal muscle is not difficult with consistent training and diet. Achieving low bodyfat while having increased muscle mass is where the average schmo is unable to take it to the next level.

Also, lets see a pic of these arms that are "too big". I need a good laugh.

I remember the time raw posted a pic of himself with his shirt off looking like a 110 pound poster child for redneck famine, and then went on to proclaim he had been working out and was now going on a "cut". :olo:
