I like overburnt sunlights, but I think this one is a bit too much, tbh.

Istanbul - Hagia Sophia
Image

The Hagia Sophia is located near the Topkapi Palace and Blue Mosque, which are all close-by to the Bosphorus river. Having been rebuilt three times and suffered through several earthquakes, the building is a classic example of Byzantine architecture with a huge 102ft wide dome standing 180ft tall supported by giant stone columns.

@Anthem, that defrag demo is just crazy fast, nice textures as well :p

Istanbul - Ceramic Tiles
Image

The Topkapi Palace was the official residence of the Ottoman Sultans for 400 years (1465 - 1856) and home to over 4,000 people at the height of its existence. Much of the inner areas of the palace were decorated with richly coloured Iznik and Kütahya tiles with many repeating patterns spread across multiple tile sets creating unique and interesting wall designs.

Sock, always nice to see those photos of yours, I always get the feeling of creating those environments when you post your shots.

Jump pad model. Suggestions? I'm not sure I like the pipes. I also want some kind of ring rotating just above the crevice but haven't been able to come up with satisfactory results.

Athens - The Parthenon
Image

The Parthenon is the crowning glory of Athens, standing tall atop of the Acropolis surrounded on all sides by a sea of urbanization far below. Sadly the temple has suffered much misfortune over the years and in 1687 the Ottoman Turks used the Acropolis for the storage of gunpowder, which partly destroyed the temple when it was struck by a Venetian mortar.

@obsidian, reverse the detail around, make the center solid with pipes and stuff and the vent/sfx around the outside edge. It will create a much better 3d profile for approaching players. If you show the fan blades below the surface on the outside edge.

lovely weather today ! :]

Image

@obsidian: could you show the model along with a player start or bounding box for scale reference? Cant give any good suggestions, other than that the shell around the turbine appears too thin to be as structurally sound as the other parts - adding thickness or removing the black border in the texture to the top edge of the shell may make it better.

edit: Hey Fjoggs! I'm doing great - no mapping atm though, but I might get back into it some time soon for a quickie if all goes well xD

Damn, that's really amazing corsair! Do you have a masterpiece somewhere?

Obsidian: Agree about the thin-ness of the rim, and is it being created for q3? I think it might look better with a more symmetrical set of pipes, also.

Chugging along, have ditched the plants for the moment and switched to a new color scheme. I'd love to have some laser-equipped sharks (like in ut2003's dm-oceanic) but I'm not sure how convincing I could make them. Is it possible to have a portal camera move at all?:

There is also a shot 26 if you're interested in another angle.

The portal camera itself can't move or rotate, but elements in the portal camera can move.
