For MP, I expect coop, vehicle races, mutant bash. Some mini-games would be cool too, like RC bomb driving to seek and destroy the other operator (if id Software doesn't do that one, maybe I will).

For MP, the huge gameworlds and races/gunfights/missions means a potential for MMO is there if someone were inclined to make one.

Mirror's Edge had weapons? ;)

I think more like Enemy Territory with parkour. I suspect the gameplay and class system will work very much like W:ET and ETQW.

I mean, that the multiplayer aspect of rage could feel like the singleplayer in stalker... not easy to pull off, but how cool would that be? Basically doing all the things you would be doing in SP but with online players scattered around in the same world as you doing their own thing and sometimes running into each other in gunfights, trade, races etc. maybe some micro alliances could naturally be created amongst players... even enemies for that matter
Online players could on the fly and as they please create their own co-op within the online universe, by joining other players, or group of players etc.

Speaking of Mirror's Edge, it's on Steam for $5 today only. I just picked it up.

Back to Rage; It'll be interesting to see what the MP is like for this game. I have a feeling the base MP might be a bit of a flop. Unless there are arena type MP only maps.

I don't think a large scale thing like that would work too well, without needing to go the MMO route like GONNA... said.

I'm sure the community will bring something worthwhile to the table though. :)

I winked. It had guns, but you never really needed to use them and when you did, you got like, 5 rounds.

Sorry to sidetrack the topic, but holy shit Mirror's Edge is awesome.

I wish there was more time to stop and admire the view, but I'm always being shot at!

Looking forward to this more than Rage, tbh. Bit of a bastard child between ETQW and Mirror's Edge.
I really like the idea of implementing parkour-like movement possibilities, if it's done right, and gets you an advantage when you properly use it.
Is Brink also built on id5tech? From what I've seen it looks pretty impressive, but could also be improved id4tech.

Yeah, you're probably right.

Also, not to be a negative Nelly, but how exactly does idtech5 improve on idtech4?
The screenies and footage look really good, but I don't see anything that couldn't have been done with idtech4?
I know about how every part of the terrain is unique, etc, but does that really matter when idtech4 also does megatexture?

The CEO has a hole in the knee of his jeans, almost making him more cool than the game.

Have you seen this one?
