That's absolutely right.

Thing is, had it been 2-2 which it technically was but for that wanker of a referee, I believe the story might well have had a different conclusion.
England would have had renewed confidence and energy and who knows, the score may have ended up 3-2 to england. I don't think england played well,
but I don't think they played terribly either. And they were very unlucky too. Had Rio Ferdinand been there, maybe that would have stopped some german goals?
I dunno.

I think the germans deserved to win and are generally better. Nevertheless, england did match them at 2-2, so it IS conceivable that england could have won or at least, taken it to penalties.
I think the disallowed goal fucked up england's overall momentum and confidence.

Well no doubt chances would have been there, but overall, lame shit call aside, Germany was the better team.

World Cup refs are on a roll.

Well yeah, with unfabulous capello at the helm, england wouldn't have gotten much further than the quarter finals.

Seriously, England looked bad on all of Germany's goals. They had no chance.

Mexico got fucked over as well today.

Seeing france and italy going out so early, two MAJOR teams, is perhaps the only consolation.

I dont think the chances would of been any bigger if England come back from 2-1, 2-2 or went 2-3 up, there was no way they were getting back into that game and at 2-1 the game is still all to play for, no changes made during half time (apart from informing me of the F1 standings, bastards !) and England come back out to play the same shite football weve become used to throughout the tournament.

no one can say after Englands performances up until that point that they wouldve started playing if the ref made the right call ?, i think that both the goals come from set pieces n all ?

the thing with France, is that the entire squad fell apart before the tournament, Italy were meant to be finished in the last world cup but somehow managed to win it, England have no excuses and if they start picking on that *over the line, we were robbed* shite im gunna pull me hair out.

The England soccer team took some time out of their training schedule and went to visit an orphanage in South Africa this morning.

Here is the deal with England; going into the dressing room at half time 2 - 2 would have made a massive difference because they could have approached the 2nd half with a different mentality and also different tactics. Germans would have been rockedand England could have had a little bit of control on the ball.

As it turned out they had to go for the win and had to send players up for set peices, where they then went on to conceed.

lol you won the '66 World Cup—the one thing your team can grasp onto—on a fluke goal that should've been disallowed. It's called karma :smirk:

I highly doubt that. Germany clearly were the stronger team.

ENG didn't lose with that one goal difference but 4:1. Referee mistakes have been ever since. A team that wants to play WC quarterfinals must be able to tuck away such a mistake. But instead of fighting and scoring at least the 2:2 in 2nd half they took the 3:1 and 4:1. Well, thats football...

So stop whining.

Forget about England, forget about Germany, forget about Argentina. This afternoon the orange squad is up against Slovakia. We're going to crush 'em.
