Ok, this feels a bit odd since I once knew pretty much everything there is to know about working with Q3map2, but things have changed and me knowledge about it all got pretty rusty.
I managed to install Quake3 and GTKRadiant on my linux box, and I got q3map to do what it should on it's own, but when I try to build from the build-menu using the monitoring option GTKRadiant quits on me for no obvious reason at all. Radiant's last words in the logfile are "setting up." I know there's something I'm overlooking, but I haven't a clue about what. So any help is appreciated.
Hr.O
ps. slight odd thing with GTKRadiant itself is that the plugin menu is empty, and any call to help-files (openurl) seems to end up in the great big nothing.

What version of GtkRadiant are you running?

Re: Compiling with GTKRadiant on Ubuntu
I'm using Ingar's build of NetRadiant under Linux and it works great, all the plugins are available (ShaderPlug, SunPlug, UFO:AI, bobtoolz, brushexport2, prtview).
I'm not sure about the q3map2 integration because I use some bash scripts I wrote to compile. Ingar also has build scripts on the website mentioned above.

Re: Compiling with GTKRadiant on Ubuntu
I'm using the 1.5.0 version of GTKRadiant.
Hey Wattro, nice to see you're still alive.
dichtfux, why do you suggest another Radiant fork of which you don't know whether q3map2 integration works when my question is specifically about this integration?

Re: Compiling with GTKRadiant on Ubuntu
I use the Radiant from iD's SVN repository (it's called ZeroRadiant 1.6.0 nowadays). It's a bit of a hassle to set up but I can help you out, if you want.
GtkRadiant 1.5 is in that same repository too, btw.

@Hr.O: Plugins? And I couldnt test q3map2 integration cause I was at the library. Did so now, works even with my old release netradiant-177-i686.tar-bz2 from here.

Re: Compiling with GTKRadiant on Ubuntu
Yay, got a solution to my problem, not the one i expected, but it works
Installed Q3Map2Toolz in wine, plucked q3map2 and bspc from my old windows install, made a link to the quake3 starterscript in my .q3a folder and voilà.
Only thing that doesn't work is the monitoring, but at least i now have a build button to indicate whether it's still busy.
