Hi folks,
I used to play Arena back when mplayer was the online place for joining a room, setting a map and getting players together and we'd launch the game from there.
Is there any replacement to mplayer now? Or do we just have to join / create room from within the Multiplayer menu in the game itself?
Any insights appreciated. If this has already been discussed, I'd be happy to be sent to the right topic.
Thanks!

Re: online gaming
mPlayer went down fairly quickly after Q3 was released.
theoretically, the ingame serverbrowser would get you going were it not for the fact that this game is so old that thing doenst connect to anything anymore.
if you're hosting yourself, your friends need to connect directly to your IP. quickest way for them is to open the console using the ~ key and type /connect [yourip] .
if you and your friends want to meet up on someone elses server, you'd need a third party server browser (or know the server's ip).
luckily, good folks made a new server browser; http://www.qtracker.com/
