Actually we also attached a pole with a skull and wings to it, but removed them again... not very handy.
That so makes me want to have one printed, just for decoration.

Summer has ended so I'm back to working on my map now and then.
Don't know what you want to add to the floor, but atm it just looks too thin (the one between RL and other side).

@fKd: You first screenshot looks familiar to me, did you have any map in mind when building this section or maybe had that idea in one of your old concepts but didn't realise it yet? Looks great the whole near-to-beta map, keep on going!

yup got a few sections looking finalish. so with that in mind im gonna bring the rest up to the same level of visual quality. been building a little different this time around.

started up with a topdown floorplan. with that in mind i applied the sci fi theme(no surprises)

but here is the new thing, im thinking about story and setting etc. so its a electricity power/converter plant, there is a fire and a section is in lock down. alarms/fire and general mayhem is being constructed... if only there was some kinda screenshake set to a random trigger for extra effect.
also textures, im using em for a lot more effect this time around. with all this tied together im hoping for my best map yet. im really digging my item setup... i finally watched a bunch of pro comp matches and i've learnt a few things

i hope you guys will dig it when the beta comes out, i've noticed my work no longer generates much of an impression around here... prolly because i kept on building the same type of maps. so lets see how this one comes out

sounds like a good idea why not use a particle effect for your fire, that would make it really unique

Alright I feel it's time for me to post some screen shots of my seventh map. It's a remake of my second map I made around nine years ago. I remade my first map so now I'm face lifting me second. Gloom and Doom Gothic style which is my mapping forte. Never gets old for me. Ive been greatly inspired as of late with a new band I was introduced to. The name I gave my map is "Waking the fallen of the Seventh Trumpet".

I know the screen shots are a little or alot on the dark side but I'll increase the lighting as I go. Also I'm taking before and after shots as well. You'll see what it look like past and bland to now and grand. :D I know alot of mappers remake some of their older work to show how they have grown with experience.

I'll post all the before shots first....of course.

In the final two after screen shots there's fog that I added which to me gives the map more a old dusty broken feel to it. Sorry if they seem to dark. The next shots I post will be brighten up alot more. I'm very proud of my early work but I do see the huge difference in the years of experience that I have been doing this. I never thought that when I started mapping almost ten years ago that I would make it this far. It was all so damn frustrating and complex. Sometimes I felt like banging my head against the wall. :olo:

Thank you very much everyone. Sorry that was my bad when I uploaded them to imageshack. I clicked the box for the small thumbnail for websites and forums. Next time I'll make sure the shots are bigger so when you click on them they will increase in size. :D

@fKd

Nice screenie there. You have a nat for building base style map's. That's one thing for some reason for the life of me that I can't make. :cry: Always Gothic for me. Are those textures hi-res? They look very clean and sharp. :D I like em alot. There's alot of brush detail (Like always with ya) and myself alike.... :D Keep that going it's looking great.
