Not sure I've made good video card choice although here in Namibia choices are limited.
I think i will have a pretty good system once I'm done and will be RAGE'ing with full detail "me hopes"

Stuff's gonna be way more expensive in Namibia than the US, because it's a small market and stuff has to be imported.

It's the same in New Zealand. A setup I built ~8months ago works out around $2100 USD

That's what I was kinda thinking. Just that I can probably build that for around half that price and it seemed a bit steep. But that makes sense.

In Yellowknife Canada i was paying over $1000 just for a celeron cpu way back when.
Everything is cheaper here compared to that shithole.
I bought another CHAINTECH GEFORCE GTS250 and changed Motherboard to a
MSI P55m GD45
So I have compensated for what i thought was a mediocre video card.

They threw in a cool pair of Mp3 glasses after they flubbed my order so am still waiting for my parts grrr at Namibia

i'm gonna go 16GB 1800mhz Kingston as soon as they have it in stock where i bought my PC, atm i'm on 2x2 kingston 1600mhz

Of course yer gonna have a nice build when yer done. This sounds like a good gamer build. I've built em with scraps and wished fer a budgie like yer talkin about. The fellas are right... in Nambutfuckia, this is a reasonable price. If you don't live "just down the road" from anything, you gotta pay.

Well, after much anger I think i nailed a good deal.
Because they are 3 days later with my parts I got some free upgrades minus a set of speakers now.

Intel I7 860 is now I7 930

MSI P55m GD45 is now MSI X58 PRO-E

HMMM .. not sure i got a better motherboard ?? can anyone help

parts will be here in 15 hours , 14:59 ... grrr

eish .. old pc has been used and abused at work. I just recovered from a major data and OS disaster from a faulty generator and that's why I am making a new one so I am not stuck like that again. Review are showing that the X58 runs circles around the P55.

You definitely improved your mobo and CPU, good job. The 250 GTS might be ok in CrossFire, but you'll usually get better performance with one powerful card than two weaker ones. I'd recommend a GTX 470.

I just finished building my new i7 rig by adding a 930, Gigabyte X58A-UD3R mobo, and 6GB Corsair XMS3 DDR3-1600 RAM. Runs circles around Crysis and GTA IV.

Ya , at some point I have to say enough is enough.
I have Far more power then i will ever need for quite some time.
I could get better ram, video card but that can be a future upgrade in 2012.
Rage should run well on this machine

wow .. I love this machine and i especially love windows 7.
still have a funny feeling I'm not getting the most of this system as I would have thought transferring files from 1 hard drive and watching a movie with another drive would be stutter free but it's not.

I need to download more drivers i guess.
HDMI works now , took me a while to fix that .. everything works just not as speedy as it should.
I'll be up all night obsessed with this,
All in All .. a horribly easy installation .. just need to get tweakin.
Somah .. This is my get ready for Rage machine .. My voodoo Rush card won't work with Rage me thinks

Are you running at the native resolution of your screen, ax?

I changed from 1080p to 1920x1080 to
PC 1680x 1050 and that cured the problem.
much better now ... thanks but now I have lost some bonus features?

You should always run it at 1920x1080, including in-game.

Yes, it is working great at that resolution however i think this case or psu is a hunk of junk , SLI crashes all games so i had to disable it. I will put other vid card on my work computer.
