Removing objects from video in real-time

Post by Eraser »

If you thought Photoshop's content-aware fill was impressive, check out this "diminished reality" tech with which they remove objects from a video in real-time. It's not entirely perfect yet, but it's a pretty cool start.

I guess it was bound to happen, and as I say it I know how glib it sounds but it's true.

The music was more exciting that the result, but cool none the less. I can see the tin foil hats having a field day with this.

Not that video was a medium that could be trusted before anyway. Green screen effects have been around for ages.

I would like to see this implemented into video editors. Nothing sucks more then taking some nice nature footage only to realize later that some asshole left some trash in the area. Being able to easily edit that out would be handy.

i think content aware is far more impressive. This is a simple function just done very very fast. Content aware seems fucking intelligent.
