Re: Best way to make GD an active forum again
It seems the best way to make GD active is to make a thread discussing the best way to make GD active.

Re: Best way to make GD an active forum again

You guys are forgetting one thing. First you need an admin that would actually be willing to make these "changes" to the forum. Without that, you're just pissin in the wind...
Re: Best way to make GD an active forum again
DM can actually do this.
on that note, DM for admin.
but thats not relevant atm

White Knighting is defending women on the internet Duminic. And with you being the only woman having posted in this thread, you fail again.Doombrain wrote:Holy shit
So, what's your aim with all the white knightin bro?
Randy has visited a parrallel universe where Q3W merged the forums with the least amount of traffic and witnessed the outcome.Scourge wrote:Yes, sometimes it does.LawL wrote:Doesn't work like that Randy.

It happened right here in this universe.
Re: Best way to make GD an active forum again
funny thread, but yeah... new ppl will come when there is something for them to find/use... dont get me wrong, you guys are funny as hell, but really its just a good read and not something that a noob (like me) can get involved in as i/we dont know all the quirks etc that have developed over the last however many years. just keep on keepin on i say. but the level editing forum is fantastic as a q3 mapper. very helpful regulars etc and i assume the other sections coding etc also fulfill a role but general diss is just that, general diss
but thanks for all the lols

Re: Best way to make GD an active forum again
By "regulars", do you specifically mean you and Doombrain so the two of you can continue flinging shit at each other like you did in the previous 2 pages as well as every other thread in the Void?LawL wrote:That's the intention, hence the thread title. And when there are more posts in the main forum it generates more posts from the regulars, so you end up with more activity than just a combined post tally from multiple forums.obsidian wrote:You may just have a greater frequency of posts made on a unified sub-forum but with the exact same people posting.
This isn't a thread suggesting a way to attract n00bs. That's not going to happen.
I think the sum total number of threads would be the same in both cases, just those who would rather skip the flames can just poke in GD and skip the void. Personally, I think we need some new blood and some new things to talk about. The last time we consolidated forums, it was to get rid of some of the really quiet forums and hope that there would be some more activity. We have less empty forums sections, but we haven't gotten any more activity.

Re: Best way to make GD an active forum again
When the Void was created it actually killed the more active forum and caused a lot of posters to leave.
Re: Best way to make GD an active forum again
No, by “regulars” I don’t mean Duumbrain and myself specifically. I mean the people who “regularly” post here.obsidian wrote:By "regulars", do you specifically mean you and Doombrain so the two of you can continue flinging shit at each other like you did in the previous 2 pages as well as every other thread in the Void?

I don’t think the sum total number of threads would be the same in both cases. Traffic generates traffic. It’s the way forums work.
