not to mention another example of sloppy writing. laguerta tells that chick to go over to the fuentes guy and make nice, even though she has a piece stashed in exactly the location fuentes is likely to put his hands while the making nice is happening - and laguerta presumably knows all this. so either she's suddenly incompetent, or the writers fucked up again

Not really enjoying this season very much. It's a bit tenser than other seasons, which is good, but the sub-plots are a bit pointless.

I just want to see Dexter killing people and being slick, but he's a bungling oaf in this season.

I'm wondering how the private detective angle is going to get wrapped up. Possibly in plastic sheeting (get it?). This is like the third time someone's gotten wind of what he does and now it needs to be dealt with. The Ice Truck Killer, Doakes, the psycho girlfriend, the Trinity Killer, Lumen, the PI (kinda)... Considering his second rule (thereabouts) is "don't get caught", he's doing a pretty shitty job of it.

This week's episode was a huge improvement IMO and the season is definitely getting more interesting. The PI getting the body dump on film was something I wasn't expecting and, tbh, I hope they wrap that subplot up before too long. Also hoping Laguerta gets found out rather than Deb taking the fall.

Oh, I have no doubt that LaGuerta is going to have her world fall in on her, but I'm sure it'll take its sweet time coming.

I wrote my post halfway through watching the last episode. The final half turned out to be awesome. Seems to be getting back on track.

Haven't watched it yet, tell me tho, how is my prediction from two weeks ago doing?

Only thing I can see redeeming this season is Dexter taking Lumen under his wing (Born in blood and dark passenger talk mean this is a possibility), and also if they do Quinn's hunt on Dexter right it could be good. So far the Quinn sidestory has been boring shit as well tho. Every episode he finds out a bit more nothing.

Edit: I'll bet this week is more sloppy writing, a few cringe worthy dialogue scenes, and more "tension" that didn't ever need to be tension, the writers just made it easy for themselves by constantly putting 2 people who are in conflict in the same place.

Edit2: OOh, I almost forgot: Some cringe worthy, or just plain weird camera shots as well.

It was a question dickhead, hence the question mark. Unless you think subjective opinions such as "sloppy writing, a few cringe worthy dialogue scenes, and more tension" are some form of prediction.

i'm very interested in seeing how dex deals with robocop. also, can you really get such well-lit distinct pictures at that distance, at night? guy's camera must have been set on ISO 6400 or some shit

The characters aren't new anymore so it lost some of its shock value is all. Its still better than 99% of the shit on TV though and I'm enjoying the hell out of this season now that the story is picking up steam.

so what happened to the dark passenger? suddenly dexter's delivering vengeance on behalf of waifs and strays. also, anyone else note the absence of harry from the last eps? surely harry would have told dex to pick up that guy's cell and find out who he warned about lumen being alive

also, haven't the other conspirators found out about the roadkill collector's death yet? why did they assume lumen was dead (the incriminating cellphone convo "that bitch is alive" - like this was a piece of info that would surprise everyone else...)
