Rage mods?
Rage mods?
Has there been any word lately on a mod SDK being released for Rage? The problem two years ago was that the new texturing required a few weeks worth of server farm time to render the final texture but they mentioned a possible work-around.

Yeah, I saw Rage on the iPhone. It's supposedly the best looking game on the iPhone currently. And only $2. I might have to splurge...

id Software will almost certainly put out a SDK (editor and some other files). The question is whether they will also release all their source content for the megatextures as well, that's a huge amount of data so even if they are releasing it, it'll be one massive download.
I expect people will be able to make some of their own content, but on a much more limited scale than what an entire company of people like id can do. So it's not like Q3 where one person can create a pretty quality looking map. I'm hoping for some better collaboration tools that they were hinting about, so mod teams can work on a single map at the same time. Something like that could revolutionize how the mapping community works.

Pretty fun so far after I changed it over to touchpad rather than tilt controls. Would be sweet to see it on the iPad.

This is the trouble with iPhone gaming atm... The games are stunning to look at in some cases, but control like utter shite... Either you get a mess of a control system like this, or you have half the screen covered up with your thumbs...
