Assassin's Creed - Brotherhood
Assassin's Creed - Brotherhood
Did any of you give this one a shot?
If so did you think the addition of the recruits and their 'leveling' system was a very worthwhile addition? I really liked the second AC game as a huge improvement to the first with a much better storyline, but this one hasn't kept me as interested. Game looks great though.

I'm a big fan of the series and plan on picking this up as soon as I can. AC2 was stellar and I love all the side missions, exploring, climbing towers etc. Every once in a while you get to assassinate someone too!
This one seems like more of AC2 just without the whole Desmond thing, which suits me just fine.

Re: Assassin's Creed - Brotherhood
It's a really good game, probably the best in the series if you ask me. The recruits make for some interesting tactics, and can help massively in certain situations, especially once you get access to the Arrow Storm ability.
I also found myself using the other factions a lot more too, especially the courtesans and their ability to allow you to move undetected through the streets.
I haven't tried the multi-player yet, so can't comment on how successful they've been, but the premise is good.
Oh, and there's a LOT of Desmond towards the end, but I didn't mind so much as this time it involved revisiting a place you'd been as Ezio except in the present, which was pretty cool. And the story develops interestingly at that point too.

It's brilliant. The series keeps getting better and better.
Though did anyone else get a MASSIVE Uncharted 2 vibe on the first Desmond sequence?

thanks for the comments guys - was a blast to work on it and the reception has been amazing (we've been watching the different launch events from around the world)... many late nights to get this one out the door!

Re: Assassin's Creed - Brotherhood
Didn't know anyone here worked on it. What was your role? Great game - the intricacy of the storylines in these games, along with the way real historical figures are intertwined into the whole thing, is amazing. The improvements over the first AC game have been immense - the games finally feel like what I thought AC1 was going to be. Best part of the game for me has been the short, but intense, chase of the guy in the last Lair of Romulus in the rain outside. Wish there were more weather effects in the game - thunderstorms with rain would make a nice addition to the big outdoor fights.urgrund777 wrote:thanks for the comments guys - was a blast to work on it and the reception has been amazing (we've been watching the different launch events from around the world)... many late nights to get this one out the door!

Re: Assassin's Creed - Brotherhood
2's an awesome game Donny, and Brotherhood wouldn't make much sense without playing it first. Beware though; if you like "completing" games by doing all the side missions and stuff, they're both very long games. We're not talking Morrowind / Fallout New Vegas style long, but long all the same.

Re: Assassin's Creed - Brotherhood
I lost my saved game on the first which was a bit of a bitch...one day I will sit in and smash it for about 6 hours and see how I get on. I was only about 3 hours into it last time as it goes, but still....boo...
Re: Assassin's Creed - Brotherhood
You can definitely play #2 without playing the original, as it's not a direct sequel as such. I mean there is the whole animus continuation, but the actual setting and characters are mostly new.
Brotherhood is direct however. I'm really enjoying it... and yes, it's massive.

Re: Assassin's Creed - Brotherhood
you'd need 1 to know about the whole Templar/Assassins and their quest for the Piece of Eden, although that can be summed up by reading a plot synopsis.

you need to sink hours in the unskippable cutscenes.

Gonna start this either tonight or tomorrow night, looking forward to it.
If it is half as good as Assassins Creed 2 then I will be well happy
