Cowboys & Aliens? Really? There's no way this movie will ever be good. But if by some fluke it is, it'll be the greatest movie of the century.

The anomaly is that both Craig and Ford usually get signed to do some pretty big successful movies with decent plots (except the last Indiana Jones movie, blech). It's hard to imagine both of them signing on to something incredibly shit. Yet here they are on something perplexing.

Firefly was able to make the Old West in space theme work incredibly well, but this still seems like a really long stretch. The only real way I could see this work is if it's an action-comedy/parody. That would be quite a surprise.

Does everybody think it will be shit simply because it SOUNDS like it should be shit...?

Just thinking out loud here, because I agree, it does sound like it should be shit... But it doesn't have to be a AAA blockbuster, does it? As long as its a fun romp, who cares if its not the next Schindlers List?

Looks like a big pile o' shite! WTF!

What happened to Cowboys and Indians? They get all politicaly correct and the only people cowboys are allowed to shoot are fucking aliens now?

That's because it was created by Joss Whedon. Plus it took place in the future, not in the past.

oh, i get it: indians are no longer a politically acceptable 'evil Other', so they're using aliens to convey the same ideological message
