Thor 5.1

Natalie Portman you're a whore, no better than a common street walker...you'd do anything for money apparently. Come to think of it, worse than a whore cause I'm sure they need the money more than you do.

Elephant White = 5/10 - Djimon Hounsou does a decent job...sorta...but Kevin Bacon does the worst Brit/Aussie accent I've ever heard and the acting from the rest of the cast sucks hairy goat ass.

Kill The Irishman = 7/10 - Probably the best mafia movie to come out in a while.

Sounds a bit racist.
Like you lowered the bar for the african actor, while keeping the bar very high for the white actor.

Foolproof 7/10

one of Ryan Reynold's early acting jobs. Actually a decent movie.

Yeah, but do you think accomplished actor Reynold has the same staying power as, say:

- De Nero
- Paccino
- Rob Schneider

Isn't Plan B high most of the time? I think he probably is.

Also:

Push 4/10
It's like some asshole in charge said to their assistant 'Hey, have you seen that show Heroes? Let's make a movie like that'. Extremely mediocre to the point of me literally not being able to remember a goddamn thing about it, other than it was about superpowers, a mere 2 days after watching. And i watched it sober too, unlike this Plan B fellow would have done.

Slaughterhouse 5 ?/10
The novel is absolutely great, one of Vonnegut's best, a true American literary classic and all that guff - so my expectations for this one were probably a bit high. After 15 minutes of agonizing storyline rapage and a few scenes with some remarkably bad acting i couldn't bear it anymore and had to turn it off. Did i mention they mutilated the storyline? They did, they fucking murdered the entire plot, the bastards.

Harvey - 7/10
1950's flick about a crazy dude and a Kafkaesque series of mix ups at the insane asylum. Pretty good stuff, has some really cool bits of dialogue such as: "Well doctor, I've been struggling with reality all my life you know? But i think i've finally won now." I think i only downloaded this one because it was on freeleech at my movie torrenty site, but damn, it was pretty lulzy

There's nuke dropping in the book? I never read it :paranoid: If there was, for shame... EDIT: no there fucking wasn't, it was written before WW2 >:(

Thought it was a typical Cruise vehicle, completely devoid of any intelligent or meaningful stuff, brimming with top notch inyourface CGI stuff only a moron or someone on serious drugs could enjoy.

Full disclosure; i actually ended up buying this on dvd, due to a '3 for the price of X' deal and this actually coming the closest to decent compared to the rest of the bin... which really says something about what else was in there. It was like Pandora's bargain bin.

You mean this is a typical Steven Spielberg vehicle...completely devoid of any intelligent or meaningful stuff, brimming with top notch inyourface CGI stuff only a moron or someone on serious drugs could enjoy. It truly shocks me to say this but Spielberg has drastically turned into one of the worst directors/producers in the industry, particularly in the last 5 years. His movies have been completely teh suck since Saving Private Ryan. Seriously...look at the projects he's been involved in since 1998...most of it is fucking garbage. Anyone who claims that Shia LaBeouf is a "great actor" and that Micheal Bay is a "great director" has truly lost his mind...and I think the latest Indiana Jones movie has pretty much proved it.

It's sad to see one of the greats fall so far into shitville.

I agree. Spielberg is really at his low point. I just hope he doesn't fuck up the Lincoln film he's working on (which should be hard to do with Daniel Lewis playing Lincoln). Then we have to look forward to "Robopocalypes"...

Moon is excellent. I'm working with a guy that made all the models for it :!:

Saw the new Pirates of the Caribbean earlier, it adds nothing to the franchise and just screams Disney Cash Cow. I can hardly remember the plot already and it didn't even have any weird little surreal bits which were the only bits in the last one worth their salt.

Redeeming features were some angry mermaids and Ian Mcshane outperformed everyone tenfold and made an extremely badass pirate.

Was great seeing him in the trailers, and it made me want to see this film. Good to see he's done well.

How was Cruz? In general and also in comparison to that skinny chick they used to have?

the thing with Ian Mcshane, he is one of those that have a naturally strong / authoritative personality. He is not necessarily a great actor just a lucky guy with the right disposition. I look back at all the roles he has played and it's pretty much the same person. I guess it's not bad , cause they got the right person for the role, but he doesn't score as high in my book.

And i haven't even watched the movie nor do i know (or care) what it's about, but I'm pretty sure he plays a roll of power with a "i'm dead serious" kind of disposition.

Taking of Pelham 123

I watched the original, good movie! don't really know what to rate it, probably 7/10 but it's a good one to watch.

The remake was decent too.

Watched a few classics:

Leon The Professional - 9/10

Probably my favourite Jean Reno/Luc Besson film of all time. Borrowed a lot of elements from French cinema.

L.A. Confidential - 9/10

Fantastic movie filled with star talent...and Danny DeVito. Guy Pearce stole the show.

Memento - 10/10

Guy Pearce is one of my favourite actors of all time and Nolan is the best director of this generation IMO
