Not sure about the whole alien mutated things above to be honest - perhaps looking at Uncharted a little closer might have been a good idea...

never really played much of any of the tomb raider games.

lol at this ever being considered sex appeal...
Image

i remember getting playstation underground discs WAY back when and there was some dorky moment when a 3d artists on the original tomb raider game was being interviewed and he made some crack about having nude 3d models of lara croft. lol?

anywho. dig the new look of lara croft and the game premise sounds like it could be pretty fun. metroidvania-esque. if it's anything like arkham asylum then count me in.

They're going to have her pull a spike out of her... maybe by pressing the A button? Really fast? Sounds like gaming in a totally new direction!

As long as they don't make false promises like with Underworld, it should be good.

Also gathering food and water sounds a little MMORPG questing-ish (or maybe Sonic the Hedgehog-ish, lol). Hopefully, it's just another type of health pickup and nothing that distracts from the core gameplay.

I hope it'll turn out well, but most developers these days have me setting my expectations really low and hoping for a surprise.

I think it all sounds like a step in the right direction. Plus it has Square Enix behind it, and ever since they took over a lot of Eiodos products have been a shit load better...

I also say good on them for not just doing female Uncharted. Granted thats what "I" wanted, but it sounds like they have some good solid ideas to play with.

I'd be happy enough if they can fix the boxy rectangular game world/obstacles. Uncharted++

Damn the new Lara looks hot  Very nice trailer too

Looks like the setting is set in Japan, and the game is being published by Square-Enix. Coincidence?

I would honestly not be shocked to have seen a smoke monster at the end...

But it looks damn good. The gameplay pics, the movies, its all looking like a damn fine reboot. If its even 50% awesome as Uncharted, it will be a day one insta buy.

God damnit, Square Enix might make shit games now, but their CGI is the best in the world, bar none.

They should scrap those awful FF games and just focus on CGI films instead.

Blizzard's style and attention to detail is great and all, but I always thought of the character animations (particularly the face) to be a bit sluggish and awkward.

I dunno, she actually does have something Final Fantasy-ish over her now. Probably the way they've done her hair.

Some gameplay footage.

I like how it seemlessly goes from intro to gameplay.
Looks pretty solid.
