Strahlemann: nothing fancy as its a test render.
bsp: -meta -v
vis:
light: -fast -filter -patchshadows
got an ambient light level of 2 as well... so yeah nothing special. still progress is coming along slowly.
kaz: the day that map comes out its gonna be a true work of art. great as ever, keep on going.

@fkd: I don't get the sense of the windows in your last picture on the right hand side... or I am too picky.
Re: Screenshots
Yeah, now that Bliccer mentions it, I noticed it as well. It seems an odd place for cozy apartments with sun screens.
Re: Screenshots
yeah its a bit weird now, but its part of the evolution of the map. the whole thing is still being worked on. 8 week to go

Re: Screenshots
Not level design, but this is what I spent last weekend screwing around with:
[lvlshot]http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a242/caldiar/Picture1.jpg[/lvlshot]
First I had tried following the suggestion of one of the employees at the store I went to pick up my materials at (rather than go with my original plan of spray paint and acrylic).
Sanded the cover down, used the oil paint, and the results were shit.
Strip the paint, and decide to go with my original plan.
After coat two of black spray paint (to cover up the sanded cover), the paint started bubbling. Ended up stripping it again.
Chipped the cover with the xacto blade I was using. Covered it up well with the next spray paint attempt which turned out ok.
Taped up the 3DS, drew the fish on, and spend something like 8 hours cutting out the lines from the tape.
After a few coats, I gave it 6 coats of acrylic with an hour between each coat to dry + cure a bit.
I'm pleased with the overall result. Though if I knew it was going to be such a pain in the ass I would have just left it in its glorious black glossiness.
