Windows7 HDD To New Comp
I have a Compaq, that is crap and I'd like to put the hard drive into another computer that I just put together... which is NOT crap.
The problem is that the OS refuses to allow the new computer to run it. How do I convince the OS that it is okay to run on this new computer?

I just found out that the os is OEM. Just have to get a new copy and transfer everything. Thank you for your response.

if it doesn't let you do it, call Microsoft support. it puts you through an automated system that asks you how many computers the OS in installed on. Say one (your new machine), and the system will give you a keycode to input into some directory somewhere. and Windows should activate just fine.

NICE! I'mma do that. It would be cool if they let you do that. Otherwise, that ?Windows7 is gonna go to waste.
