Are you saying there is separate software for launching the game? For me, the launcher just turns into the game once I log in...
oh, maybe i didn't explain that very well. i meant, once logged into minecraft.net, don't log out (i.e. don't close the window) - just leave it at the actual game menu

Ah, fair play. I'll have to try that.

Oh I know why that made no sense to me: my fucking game crashes every 3 seconds  :disgust:

server is right fucked.

Dropped my connection (again). Came back, was dead. Can't move because lag is so bad (zero FPS) because of that experience orb shit.

Unplayable.

EDIT: Can't even get to my goddamn shit because the connection keeps getting reset.

My guess is terrain code may change between now and release, so I might scrap... but I'll save it nonetheless

i mean the map we started with the pre-release, rather than the 'btw cocks' map

I was referring to the pre-release map like you said. Terrain generation and NPC towns and abandon mines will likely be tweaked between pre-release and release.

fKd (Iori_Dyson) and his friend Aufschluss. They created some amazing stuff in the original q3w map.

Is there an up-to-date map browser still hanging around somewhere? The one that uses the Google Maps API?

Original q3w:

http://mc.quake3world.com/mcmap-old/

Spring map:

http://mc.quake3world.com/mcmap/

Current map:

http://mc.quake3world.com/mcmap-notch/

(not up to date because updating occasionally crashes server)

will any of the other mappers do the job without crashing the server? like minecraft topographical survey, for instance? it's not zoomable (just outputs a png/jpg) but it does the necessary without the giant footprint
