I'm not interest in hiring you of course, but I'm just curious. Cause it looks like I'm going to be shelling out around $3k for a damn photographer...

You wouldn't want to hire an out of town photographer anyway, regardless - just extra $$ and you'll find plenty of good photographers in most cities.

My packages currently run from $1400 to $2000 - I charge less than most because its not my primary source of income. I plan on a price bump to a range from about $2000 - $3000 if/when I am able
to shift to photography half time and cut back teaching.

Ok, second attempt at making good levitation photos.. epic fail.
The one thing i learned is that it needs to be outdoor, in bright daylight (atleast with my camera) to get some very good shots.
Secondly.. i need to wear a hat or something because the hair gives it away.. and my faceexpressions.. looks like i'm about to shit myself. It takes some force to lift my 240lb of the ground.

I like the color cctv shot thing you've got going on there. Texture and composition looks about right. The rest though don't look so hot, the lighting isn't quite right, the composition is all wrong.

Does your camera have a grid that you can overlay on the lcd when you take a shot? If you do then you should try to center the shots where the lines intersect. So if you're facing to the left, then your body should be on the right and you'll have lots of space on the left.

Kinda like this one I took of my son.

I do have brackets (i think it's called) where the screen get divided into 9 squares.. no idea what to do with it, butt duffman directed me to a website that shows how to work with it to get good pics and to know where to position stuff.. so i will try and work with it.

Cool pic though Kracus, looks like something out of a childrens book, crossing the bridge into a fantasyland or something.

Thanks, yeah those 9 squares is exactly what I was talking about. Just make sure the pic is centered where the lines converge and you'll find the composition of pics will come naturally after awhile.

That pic was heavily edited afterwards btw, everything but the bridge and my son were made green.

Aaaaaanyway.. Kracus, Duffman, i been trying some more with those 9 squares, lining up the picture.. mixed results.
I tried to go for some night shots the other day at a random freeway, i tried to line the road in the middle of the frames.
I also tried to let the light from the car's headlights light up the surrounding.. it went.. not that good.

ISO 200, shutterspeed 3 secs.





Lower ISO (64 and shutter at 2 sec.




ooh well, back to the drawingboard.
The hardest part is to "read the surroundings", but eventually i will get there and atleast call myself a novice.

Doesn't have to be a Jeep but it could be anything, like a road sign, whatever. Anything works. I'm no pro, but I get the idea that my Jeep is looking tot he left, so I left some space to the left. You don't really have a subject other than the highway so centered might have been a good choice there.

I could have probably put that sign a bit more in the crosshair of that corner bu you get the idea.

Your shots don't really have a subject though, it's just the road so a cool angle or perspective might be neccessary, don't think that bridge is pulling it off.

Maybe if you had your camera like 1 inch above the center line... but then... you know... traffic.

Hmm.. well i did read something about making different objects your primary focus in pictures, almost like you force the viewer to look at what you want them to look at in the shot you take.
For example, your first picture, although it is not centered around the object (your car) it still draws the attentione, but if you would have moved the camera a bit to the left, the attention (i belive) would have been at those awesome looking snowcovered trees.
And even though the copcar isent centered, it's still the primary objective in the picture.

Damn i gotta work some more on my shots.. good stuff Kracus.

Oh btw, i forgot to mention.. all you that can not afford a real tilt-shift objective (like me), there is this awesome website that lets you create tilt-shift photos with different (easy) tools and save it on your hdd. Beats photoshop if you ask me.

Those are WAY better than your last ones dude. I really like them all. The only one I don't think isn't quite right is the one below spiderman. I think if you had stepped back and contrasted more on the spot where the wall has more light it would have been really good. but the perspective otherwise in those shots are really nice.

Hmm.. that was my intention though, to make it feel like you moved the camera really close to your little miniatureland to get a good close up. But yea, i've seen much better tilt-shift pictures.
