Why are there so many scams on Craigslist?

For you europeans, is craigslist as scam-ridden as the u.s. Version? Virtually every freelance writing job I applied there is either a scam or someone trying to work you for pennies and dump you after (nothing remotely long term). Even when I was looking for manual labor on there it was sales crap and scams. Have any of you found a real job on there? One guy claimed he wanted a blogger for $50 per article and I wrote him a post about Google and he kept tryong to change it and over the phone told me he wnated me to make him look super smart. I was like wtf, is he using my skills and name to make it look like he wrote it or sonething? Than he also called me at like 12 drunk telling me to write it with google cars, and other google crap in there about how the xompany xan make a shit load of money. He actually used that term "shit load of money." u was like wtf, how am I gonna give advice to a billion dollar company how they cna make more money? If I was that good you better pay me more than $50 for the article. Whats funby is I thik he wanted to find someone to write sonething so good that Google would hire him and was probably unemployed hinself. He even wnated me to find some stats about how much google made on apps annually or sonething and I had no idea where to even look.
