Moriarty had made himself look like Holmes, hence the kids were so scared of him when he met them (interesting fact, they filmed the scene in the childrens place in Tredegar House, my first home looks over that and I saw them filing this and Dr Who...I will post a pic at some point...) so it could have been that Holmes found his diguise and threw Moriaty off disguised as himself?

the only problem with that theory is that he's waving his arms around when he falls, it's clearly not a ragdoll

To be fair, I'm guessing there's a genuine reason there's so much Sherlock Holmes stuff doing the rounds now; the original stories have dropped out of copyright and into the public domain, meaning anyone can put their spin on the character now. I suspect that's also why the recent Conan movie got made.

I've still got a couple of eps from series 2 to watch, but yeah series 3 was brilliant, really good writing and those 2* are good actors
