Moriarty had made himself look like Holmes, hence the kids were so scared of him when he met them (interesting fact, they filmed the scene in the childrens place in Tredegar House, my first home looks over that and I saw them filing this and Dr Who...I will post a pic at some point...) so it could have been that Holmes found his diguise and threw Moriaty off disguised as himself?

I've still got a couple of eps from series 2 to watch, but yeah series 3 was brilliant, really good writing and those 2* are good actors
