That's too bad, most of what's written on the 'net is shite. Go read the books, they are quite visceral and don't fuck around like LOTR does. It jumps around between characters to keep it interesting and there is indeed "tension on every page." Plus the way the author describes the meal scenes makes me fucking salivate

I'm halfway through the third book, just got the all of the first season's episodes. I have read a shit-ton of fantasy in my time, Eddings, Foster, McCaffrey, Anthony, Brooks, etc., etc. This series is hands-down the best one I've ever read.

As you read a book and watch the series at the same time, or even read a book after you've watched the movie, do you find yourself imagining in your head the characters and faces from the movie/tv show? I hate that. That's why I can't watch something, then read the book. I feel like it takes away from my imagination. I can't seem to get those movie faces out of my head...
