What do you use as a source for music if it's not connected to the computer?menkent wrote:too lazy to take a picture and upload it, but i have a pioneer vsx-812k, a pair of paradigm titan bookshelf speakers, a paradigm CC-170 center channel, and a paradigm PDR-10 sub. none of that is plugged in to my computer. for that i use the speakers built into my cheap-ass Hanns-G LCD. \o/
Do you use a line-out-dock with your iPod? I got this one for my Sansa Fuze, it makes a big difference vs the headphone out! You could even get a transport that bypasses the internal DAC, since this is for home use.menkent wrote:i plug my ipod into the AUX, toss CDs into the DVD player, listen to the digital channels on the Time Warner cable sometimes, or if I'm really bored plug in my cheap Sony record player and listen to vinyl. *shrug*
Listening to music and watching movies. I was buying them with music production in mind though, planning on doing that at some point.Big Kahuna Burger wrote:you use those for listening to music or making music?
It's a Steelseries 4D, I also use a Steelseries S&S at workSoM wrote:ROFL, ppl still use mouse pads LOL
More like a dinner table. 6x2.5 ft rectangular desk is kinda hard to findshaft wrote:Buy a fucking desk, jesus that looks ghetto.
It's still just headphones. You need to get some speakers, it's a whole different world!brisk wrote:Same HD 800 + WA2 setup i've used for ages now. Once you have the best, you don't need to update.
It's drapes, not a bed sheet. I just don't open them because I don't want my screens to be in direct sunlight. The couch has unfortunately been destroyed by my cats, if I get a new one then it will look the same after a few weeks. It's not water damage, the door is just missing trimming in the bottom. I'm renting this apartment, so I'm not gonna fix anythingobsidian wrote:... also get drapes instead of a bed sheet, and a couch that you didn't pick up from some Afrikkan's trash. Also, is that water damage on the wall by the trim?
Post pics please!plained wrote:right now i'm using an old 70's realistic sta-90 and with some klipch rb 25
the realistic has a massive transformer and filter caps, plus it has the old power transistors that i like.
one of my source out is a computer using an old audiomedia 3 card , cheap and good.
sounds nice
Looks nice, but how does it look in your room? How do you like the setup anyway? Does it sound close to what you hear in a movie theater?bitWISE wrote:I have an older version of this with an Onkyo receiver. My PC just has a shitty old Logitech setup that I need to replace and some HD555 headphones.

I use Sennheiser HD580 precisions which I bought new a few years ago and which are great, but I have to admit I envy you wth those 800's. I'd love to hear what they sound like. I must pop into a good hi-fi shop one day and check some out, but at around £800, I can pretty much imagine how amazing the soundstage will be.brisk wrote:Same HD 800 + WA2 setup i've used for ages now.
