Good music

Post by Κracus »

Trying to find some new stuff to listen to. I'm a fan of Jarl Bernhoft and I'm hoping a few peeps here listen to this style of music and have something to suggest.

Mostly in a jazzy mood these days I guess.

What's the point of making a new thread?

I wonder what new movie is any good.

Well my bad, I never really posted in there I think plus it's ridiculously long and most of it probably isn't jazz. Jus sayin.

tbh, the other thread is just a random list of songs and artists. This thread is a request for musical suggestions in a specific genre or style. You could at most claim that Kracus could've deducted from that thread that no one listens to that kind of music, but that would be done on the (I assume wrong) assumption that the thread is a 100 percent accurate representation of what everyone on this forum listens to.

Having said that, I wonder how jazz fits in Kracus' extremely dangerous and self-destructive lifestyle

Yea, aye? Check out Medeski, Martin and Wood. They make some good jazzy stuff with a modern twist. The albums Combustication and Uninvisible are both good all the way through, by my ears. Good party music. If you want something a bit more pure, in a jazz sense, check out the album Tonic. It was recorded live off the floor with nothing but a pair of microphones. Stand-up bass, piano and drums. Pretty gnarly stuff.

This is actually exactly what I was looking for thanks! Macy has a freaking awesome voice. I've been going through her stuff and her cover of creep is really good.

Funk is inspired from Jazz thus to me a form of Jazz. It's like heavy metal is a form of rock etc...

Nah dude, if you're comparing cars it's like saying A Cayenne isn't a porsche. Beetle (volkswagon) and Porsche are two different manufacturers... as far as I'm aware, they probably have ties as they're both German.
