I`m not being a cunt, I`m pointing out in the simpilest terms that these types of complaints are retarded.
So you think the series would be just as fascinating to play if they had come up with some made-up cities in some fantasy kingdom with fake inhabitants? I really doubt it.

I'm calling anyone shallow who makes dumb complaints about games, not just the FOV morons. Those famously retarded complaints from brisk about Rage were the tip of the iceberg.

I'm not debating that. I'm debating whether or not having a specific fucking building in the game world is actually something to complain about if the designers never intended to use that specific building. Do I really need to explain why your complaints on this topic are dumb?
Eraser wrote:Sure, they may have nailed it on the head for this new game time, but I'm just not so sure the American civil war will appeal all that much to me.
And why am I and the entire gaming industry supposed to care if the American Civil war appeals to you? It's their fucking game and they'll make it in the period they want and feature the specific buildings they want.

Holy fucking shit you really don't see how ridiculous you appear right now?

The 2D sidescroller was boss. Though, not sure you can claim it was based off of the game. Inspired, maybe. That's like saying every mmorpg is based off of wow or lotr.

But yes, they're equally fascinating. And if you take it as a whole, AC is still pretty made up with its Matrix-esque moments.

You're stretching things a bit. I'm not talking about "a specific fucking building" and you know I ain't.

You are overreacting. Nowhere have I said that the game would suck or that it would bad. Just that I had a few personal question marks. Everyone is entitled to an opinion and in this case the scope of my opinion was just me personally. Now get your head out of your ass and stop being a moron.

He's not talking about a fantasy game in general, he's saying a fantasy setting in an Assassin's Creed game wouldn't work as well because the series has always been about incorporating myth into real historical events and artistic liberty in "filling in gaps" throughout the historical time period.

The developers themselves said the American Revolution period is challenging because of the lack of characters and a setting that doesn't favour the classic AC gameplay. The series is going downhill and you frothing at your mouth about it on Q3W won't do a damn thing. Why don't you go work on the game and make it a good one for a change :)

seems like theres more stealth in this game - something that was lacking in Revelations - but indeed, what guard watches his partner being dragged into a heycarriage and proceeds to do.. well nothing? :/

the graphics are impressive knowing that it needs to run on consoles.
You know, one good thing that will come out of having to develop for 100 year old consoles and yet upping the graphics quality on every new release, is the vast experience they are amounting on clever programming and designing techniques. Necessity is the mother of all inventions.

Hopefully, once the new console generation comes about, the combination of their knowledge with the new hardware should yield amazing results. Possibly even more impressive than the hardware upgrade alone would normally allow for.
Lets just hope they don't get complaisant.

In the AC games, I always opted to just start shit by swinging swords into groups of baddies because the stealth portion of the game was so brutally lacking. The only time I sneaked around was when the game forced you to shut up and walk slowly behind a target that would strategically stop and check for a boogeyman every 5 seconds prompting you to instantly blend in with a group of dirty peasants despite wearing shiny armor and having big weapons stick out of every layer of clothing. In Batman, all the fun is in watching helpless goons run around while you plot a perfect way to take them all out without being detected once, not only because it's challenging but because the gameplay is versatile.

Ubi just never got the "assassin" part right...

I'd probably give up after the 1st one because of the things you say.

Oh wait, I did :D. I've been meaning to finish the story, I wanna know what happened but the last quarter of the 1st game felt like hard graft. I think I played Brotherhood for 5 mins before going "oh, this again".

Memphis wrote:Isn't that like part 2 of 2? Not that i'm finding the story particularly intruiging, but figured I may as well do 'em in release order, rather than never going back to play the older, cobwebbier ones.

I think if you start at the first and try to power through them one after the other you would probably kill yourself. They really hit their stride with Brotherhood. 1 was super repetitive, and as with all open world games all the fetch/leveling quests get old, but are inherent to the gametype. They change the formula a bit over the series but you will burn yourself out. I found them all enjoyable, but I played them every other year or so. Except Revelations...I played that too soon after Brotherhood and it began to feel tedious. It was really the story outside the animus that made me want to finish.

I remember the controls in 1 to be pretty wonky and times..they get better in the sequels.

2 was the best, Brotherhood was ok but shouldn't have been a separate game.

using high profile + sprint == no more ledgeclinging, amirite?

related, recently finished AC3. what a huge bore that game was, ffs. not one character was likable, and the plot was paperthin. There was so much they could do with the whole American Revolution thing, conspiracies and controversies and all, yet they opted for just a history lesson with Connor wedged in there. Who, oddly enough, is present at every big event in that time period. It's like he's Forrest Gump. Same amount of moron too.

also, the constant fullscreen whiteouts got on my nerves real quick.
