Where to download original ase models used in Q3 maps?
Where to download original ase models used in Q3 maps?
I had somewhere scripts for model converter, which converts ase to md3, will look for later... But the problem is there wasn't the ase models assaigned with, the converter was missing. So I'm asking, where's able to get the original ase models finaly used as the md3's created from the ase's by the converter? For the converter I will look for later after finding the script list...

Your post is lacking in information.
Also, get rid of your signature - there's more in the signature than in your post.
- What converter?
- What scripts?
- Which ASE models?
- What are you trying to do?
- ASE and MD3 are both model formats. If you already have the MD3 files, why would you need the ASE as well?

Re: Where to download original ase models used in Q3 maps?
Read the topic name and first post carefuly. There was explained the reason of problem... For deal, I'll explain it again:
Have realised the models used in Q3 levels by ID Software were made in ASE format, then were converted into MD3 by commandline tool, which I have forgotten the location...
I know I had it somewhere, but without the ASE files and the convert tool... So I'm asking where to download the original source ase files, which were ported to the game as final md3 model files...
What I'm trying to do? It's easy, use them in my maps... I haven't the all MD3's they have been used in Q3, only models used in example Radiant source maps, the other used in Q3 maps, not ported to the Radiant were ommited...
I'll download somewhere the convert tool, which was used to convert source ase models to native Quake3 md3 format. Would you like the grenadelauncher model from q3dm11 (Deva Station)?
And to the signature: Will see, if I can reduce it to my websites links... The quotation was made in angry. I'll remove the quote soon, the links will be improved... Thanks for the notice...

Re: Where to download original ase models used in Q3 maps?
So, out of all of that, what you are really asking for are the missing MD3 files that are used in the game but are not included with the GtkRadiant gamepacks. From your post, it sounds like you were looking for a program or script or ASE model or something which made no sense. I realize that you don't really speak English, but that's all the more reason to include as much information as you can.
Anyway, to clarify:
id Software created a program (the one you are looking for) Q3Data.exe. It does a bunch of miscellaneous stuff including converting ASE models to MD3 models. Models in Quake 3 are created in 3ds Max and exported to ASE. Then Q3Data is used to convert the ASE models to their proprietary MD3 format.
id Software has never released any of the ASE models. They probably trashed them because all they ever needed to archive are the original .max files and the resulting .md3 files.
Even if id Software had released the ASE models, there's no reason why you would need to convert them to MD3. GtkRadiant has added support for ASE format for quite some time now, so you can just load the ASE file as a misc_model without bothering with messing around with Q3Data. The only reason anyone would need to use Q3Data these days is if you were making a custom player or weapon model. It's probably of little use to a level designer.
As luck will have it, I updated the GtkRadiant gamepack SVN with some of those missing models that you are looking for about a week or two ago. You'll probably see them included with the next major release of GtkRadiant.

On this page you will find some remodeled models for the q3 objects you are looking for.

Re: Where to download original ase models used in Q3 maps?
Should be possible to decompile the map, extract the part you need - but that is most cases not legal.
There is a nice tool to make md3 from map. I think md3 is nice if you want to reuse same model, or have a animated one, not for backing into the map.

Re: Where to download original ase models used in Q3 maps?
@ailmanki:
If you decompile the map the model doesn't show up in Radiant, because of missing file... I wanted to try turning q3dm2 into ctf, but there were used models that aren't part of Radiant installation... As obs said, there will be probably some of these missing models included with next GTK Radiant release, so I'll just wait...
@Bliccer:
Tried, these models have wrong origin or/and are skewed a bit...
@obsidian:
Thx for the info, will try to search through the Google if I would to find the models, but the chance is small... So I'll pobably wait for the next release of GTK Radiant...
