About mosquitos

Post by Insensatez »

I have installed a fly, mosquito screen in front on all of my windows.

I'm not a big fan of using an ant mosquito repellent device (you know the ones with rechargeable tablets), because the power outlet is a bit far from my bed and I hate to have wires all over my room just to get the thing closer to my bed.

Repellent salves and the lot are just terrible, they help but they make me do more laundry, which is as bad as being stung by those abominations of nature.

Even the spiders I've let into my house aren't doing a good job either, don't see too many webs either, so I guess they are the wrong type of spiders

Living in a ground floor appartment, next to forrested area doesn't help either I guess.

Any other advice?

Luckily (or unluckily) I live in a highrise apartment and mosquitoes don't fly too high :)

There are electronic bug/insect repelling devices, they don't heat just emit ultrasonics?
Have you investigated them?

Memory:
I recall in my youth, working with a Surveyor, out in the back blocks, near some quite damp and boggy ground when we came across a mosquito swarm, must have been millions of them. Imagine if you will, they were that thick in the air they near blocked out the Sun  We had to run for our lives (from mosquitoes!) as we near couldn't breath. Hmm, could make a movie of that incident :smirk:
Edit: spelling

No.

I do have issues with acne , mainly on the upper toso, back and shoulders since puberty.

I also have spots that stay white, even when I'm sunbathing. It's a melanin issue.

West Nile is now an issue here so there's even more reason to hate mosquitoes.

btw plained I love dragonflies. There were like 100 of them flying above the soccer field last Sunday when I was playing.

In which pic was I wearing bags? The one shot from the woman from behind, you know the one with the blueish tint.

No, I had an appointment with my platic surgeon last Friday for my botox injection.

not too many dragonflies in the neighbourhood here, not unless you go to the forrest nearby.

...and I have a bad habit of breaking nets :(

I thought lawl meant hives, like the place mosquitos breed and come out of.

Or am I thinking bees?
Yeah, I think I´m thinking bees.

ow hives, I thought he was talking about a skin disease :D, though this seems more likely OT.

There is park nearby and a big forrested area , about a 10 minute walk from here, but not many trees in the direct neighbourhood.

My dad usually has a whole squadron of dragonflies escorting him around his yard as he sits on his riding lawn mower scaring the mosquitoes out of the grass.
