The company also announced that Star Wars 7 exists and is aiming for a 2015 release date, which makes this the most insane thing ever. Lucasfilm co-chairman Kathleen Kennedy will become president of Lucasfilm under Disney, and will also act as executive producer on "new Star Wars feature films, with George Lucas serving as creative consultant."

This could be a disaster
Re: Disney acquires Lucasfilm for $4.05 billion
lol, what do you mean 'could'?
Re: Disney acquires Lucasfilm for $4.05 billion
Buying LucasFilm for all the franchise rights makes perfect sense given the long history of the two companies collaborating. Filming Star Wars Ep. 7 does not.

Regarding Star Wars Ep. 7, I say: who cares? They've comprehensively ruined the franchise with Eps 1/2/3 already, what's the worst they can do? Ruin it some more? Fucking have at it cunts.

Not that anyone cares, but it was the other way around.Captain Mazda wrote:lol, beat you by mere seconds beyotch
Star Wars Ep. 7: The Next Generation. Yeah, they can ruin it more.

isn't there a trilogy of novels that follows on from Ep 6?obsidian wrote:Buying LucasFilm for all the franchise rights makes perfect sense given the long history of the two companies collaborating. Filming Star Wars Ep. 7 does not.
Re: Disney acquires Lucasfilm for $4.05 billion
maybe it'll be the Thrawn trilogy that should have been made instead of the prequels

Re: Disney acquires Lucasfilm for $4.05 billion
It always has been George Lucas' intention to make an episode 7, 8 and 9, so it's no real surprise that this was going to happen.

Why not? For Star Wars, the only way is up, right?
Re: Disney acquires Lucasfilm for $4.05 billion
Star Wars was horrible...

That's because you were in your forties when it came out.
Thick, solid and tight in all the right places.
Re: Disney acquires Lucasfilm for $4.05 billion
Until they release the original trilogy post Lucas's madness the Star Wars franchise is dead to me.
