There was a bit of a discussion going on between pro- and anti-obama people on Facebook. What just struck me as typical was that all the anti-obama people had trouble correctly spelling and capitalizing words, punctuating sentences and just putting thoughts into coherent sentences in general.

Also, (and I see this everywhere, not just on Facebook) while the pro-obama people usually seem to come up with decent arguments in favor of Obama and against the opposition, the republican voters usually go like "They're taking our freedom!" and "The government steals our money!" When asked exactly how and why this is supposedly so, they go "just because!"

And this makes me think. Is there a "right-wing" version of programs like The Daily Show? I guess there isn't, which makes me think that right wingers may not lack humor, but they do lack the analytical skills required to make sharp observations about controversial situations and point out the hypocrisy behind them.

Here in the Netherlands a growing group of people have been whining that Dutch (public) television is too left oriented and that there's not enough room for right oriented opinions and views. But to me, this seems like an obvious result of the type of content that needs to be discussed in television programs that matter in that political context. These programs are made by journalists, who are supposed to be critical thinkers and as soon as you start thinking critically, you see straight through the right winged bullshit thats spewed by some people.

lol this, a voter is a voter and the media (or anyone) mentioning the voters background is just a slap in the face to your very own political philosophy and the base of which America was founded, same as having a teddy tantrum because the person you wanted wasn't elected.

Not that your philosophy hasn't been pissed on during the last few yrs because the right wing wont listen to anything an elected dust monkey says due to something like the financing of 'obamacare', yet finance GWB into the bowls of any country he wants despite having his evidence written on a subway wrapper and his election being orchestrated by the Trotters, then mock his own ineptitude after the deaths of fuck knows how many innocents and countrymen, this motherfucker got 2 terms and no one wanted to withdraw from the union, no one even wanted him impeached for being a chronic liability and liar ? (sorry Clinton, sticking dicks in things other than your wife is way worse), which is why I think it is a racist issue despite myself trying to conclude it isn't.

It's not even like the election was close and you would think at this point they would want to atleast try and rebuild some respect rather than sound like a bunch of bitter racists with a bone to pick, not that we should complain, if this is their view then they don't belong anywhere near the leadership of a country and sounding like a bitter arsehole *should* only damage their chances of getting close ?, over here we have the BNP party which is like a comedy parade, in your country theyre actually taken seriously.

The right's version of The Daily Show is called "FOX News", perhaps you've heard of it? :olo:

Honestly, I keep asking people for examples of the huge amounts of liberal elite media bias the right claims. I am open-minded, I keep asking for examples and not getting any. I believe that since all the media outlets are owned by corporations and as such they all have an agenda. I also recognize that MSNBC is clearly more left-leaning and that FOX is blatantly right-wing. But, what I don't see are examples of the pure, unfiltered bullshit that FOX News presents as news coming from the left. Sure, Olbermann is arrogant. Yes, Maddow is a lefty rug-muncher. But, no one has been able to point me to cases wherein those two have just flat-out lied or grossly distorted facts the way FOX does.

Yes, there are morons on both sides, but I don't see anything on the left that even vaguely resembles the rampant idiocy of the fundy nutjob rednecks on the right. I'm consistently amazed by how susceptible right-wingers are to media propaganda and how willingly they are to spew FOX talking points and not form their own opinions. Yes, the left is guilty of this as well, but they just don't seem to be anywhere near as stupid about it.

good piece here on the gradual future demise of the GOP: http://www.spiked-online.com/site/article/13080/
Diversity is proving an advantage for Democrats, which some have long predicted. The ubiquitous number-crunching is revealing: Mitt Romney won a sizeable majority (60 per cent) of white voters, but their relative share of the population is declining (from about 90 per cent in the 1980s to 77 per cent in 2004 to 72 per cent in 2012). Obama won an even stronger majority (71 per cent) of Latino voters, whose population share is steadily increasing. He benefited from a sizeable gender gap, winning 55 per cent of the female vote to Romney’s 44 per cent. Obama won 60 per cent of the youth vote and over 90 per cent of African-Americans.

You can bemoan all this demographic accounting, but it reflects emerging electoral realities: Republicans are in danger of becoming a niche party of older, conservative white people.

Now that the election is over, Fox is up in arms about the September 11th (2012) attack on the embassy in Libya. Claiming Obama knew it was coming and failed to do anything about it. There's even talk they're trying to use this whole Patraeus ordeal to impeach Obama because of what happened in Libya.

Meanwhile, in reality:

GOP vice presidential nominee Paul Ryan, [Rep. Darrell] Issa and other House Republicans voted for an amendment in 2009 to cut $1.2 billion from State operations, including funds for 300 more diplomatic security positions. Under Ryan’s budget, non-defense discretionary spending, which includes State Department funding, would be slashed nearly 20 percent in 2014, which would translate to more than $400 million in additional cuts to embassy security.

Yes, the very same Paul Ryan that was running for VP along with Romney.

Fuck Fox. Fuck Republicans that believe their lies.

Seriously...Republicans are CHILDREN....

McCain skips Benghazi briefing, gets testy when questioned by CNN because they had the gall to actually ask him why he didn't go to the briefing.
(CNN) - Most of the Republican members of a Senate committee investigating the terrorist attack at the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya, skipped a classified briefing by administration officials on the incident Wednesday, CNN has learned.

The missing lawmakers included Sen. John McCain of Arizona, who at the time of the top-secret briefing held a press conference in the Capitol to call for the creation of a Watergate-type special Congressional committee to investigate how and why the attack took place.
Not one single Republican invited to the briefing went to the briefing...just so they could complain that they haven't been briefed. John McCain hosted a press conference demanding more information...during the briefing in which he could have received more information. :dork:

No wonder America is a third-world nation with a first-world military, because it's living in its own universe.

Not to defend delusional Grandpa McCain, but from that same item:
only three of the eight GOP members of the committee attended the two hour briefing

lol

Question: Of the GOP that went to the briefing, how many went to the news cameras and immediately claimed they weren't briefed? Because you know in Bizarroworld they'd attempt that argument without batting an eyelash, being recorded by 108742983742 cameras and then later deny they ever said it knowing they were being recorded by 108742983742 cameras. :olo:
