Is the MP just more of same? SP looks fucking awesome if the commercials are to be believed. But, you'd have to be some kind of geoof to fall for that shit.

In fact, playing the game is exactly the same as watching the commercials. The game controller is only there to give you the feeling that you're somehow involved in it all.

Yeah, that sort of linearity and lack of involvement has become too common. MoH was awful about that, glad I only rented it. CoD didn't see to be as bad as MoH in this regard, and I can tell from watching the vid that shaft posted that I'm going to end up getting this. For some reason I just can't seem to learn my lesson when it comes to these games.

Bought it last night, mostly been playing the MP. It's verrrrrry similar to MW3 and BLOPS, but somehow it feels incrementally better. I like the weapons a lot more, and the maps I've played so far feel a little less frenetic. They're different enough that while the gameplay still feels a bit rushed, it's not quite so prone to the "swirling, spastic, bunnyhopping fucktard festival" that the last two CoD iterations have been.

Sniping has always been my big complaint in MW MP, and this time it's gotten somewhat better. There seem to be a few places where you can actually feel like you're sniping, but I've been killed a few times by retards that actually use the fucking scope from three feet away.

What really kills me is that I've run across a BUNCH of level 55s and more than a few lifeless faggots that are already on Prestige mode. For fuck's sake nerds, go outside.

Picked this up last night finally after being on the fence about getting this or not for the past week.

It's a lot better than I anticipated in some ways.

The last CoD game I bought was World at War (played it a couple times before determining it was a pile of shit and throwing the game away) and the last CoD I properly played regularly was CoD 4.

It was a huge leap in multiplayer gameplay difference from CoD 4 to this. From what I hear though, if you've been buying the yearly CoD releases, this doesn't really change much aside from the Pick 10 system. Dunno.

I enjoy the ballistic knife and combat axe immensely. I just wish they unlocked a little earlier. I've been finding myself firing up custom games against bots just to dick around with the knife since I'm only rank 5 right now.

Snipers are great fun (even though the hitboxes are fucked and every other player is connected with a goddamn 14.4k modem). I like that you can put attachments on them to make them more stable and accurate at the same time. The sniper rifles in CoD 4 were disgusting to use with that sway... CoD 1 did rifles right.

Speaking of hitboxes, it seems some things are still the same with Treyarch games. They never did quite figure out how to make it so what you aim at is what you shoot. I gave up trying to hit people with melee and only manage to land hits if I aim at the air near them. I've knifed *through* people only to get myself knifed and the kill cam shows my arm going through my opponent. Ridiculous.

But yeah, most fun I've been having so far is in the custom games with just a ballistic knife, ghost/lightweight, dead silence/extreme conditioning, and dual combat axes.

To be honest, though, I don't know why they make it so you have to rank up to unlock weapons. Why not just have everything unlocked from the start, let people play, and let the ranked matches be the motivator for progression?

I played a bit today and turned it off. I really tried to not hate it, but just couldn't bring myself to. Fuck this franchise.

Once again Yahtzee says exactly what I think about this crap: Zero Punctuation reviews Codblops 2
