In a squat/snatch/clean you want your torso as vertical as possible. There is no way you are going to catch 400+ pounds in a clean with anything other than a vertical torso. That's why it's important to squat the same way.
The 1st pull, however, you will be bent over a little more.

I started wearing a 4" belt for squats, holy moly is that a big help. Have to hit 100% on clean and jerk tonight and will wear it for those lifts.

observe the true beast man, Dmitry Klokov:
[lvlshot]http://www.allthingsgym.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/klokov-front-squat-wallpaper_small.jpg[/lvlshot]

that was 250kg (550lbs) in a pause front squat.

Yea if you're gonna train the olympic lifts, front squats are absolutely essential.

The low bar squats, however, are a great overall strength exercise, are easier on the knees compared to high bar or front squat, and arguably recruit more muscle mass than the high bar or front squat.

I used to think belts were a kind of cheat, until I learned that they actually help you by allowing your abs to contract harder. I'm not at the point yet where I require a belt, but hopefully will get there in time.

awesome - you're really stable at the end of the jerk. You seen the vid of tommy suggs coaching the clean and jerk?

Any of you awesome people know anything about stopping the build up of lactic acid when exercising? It is something I suffer from often (and quickly) during work outs.

My hip flexor has healed to the point where I can do front squats. Don't know if I can ever do back squats again though :(

back squats hurt your hip flexors more than front squats??

or back squats hurt something else?

Back squats hurt my (injured, from back squats) right hip flexor. Using a wide stance tightens the hip flexors so it causes more problems than the front squat.

Definitely bigger and more tanned in the second pic. Nice work.
Thick, solid and tight in all the right places.

You can't see his quads, and his calves look developed. Go do some pushups for your back.
