It's rumoured to have boats, wonder how that will play out.

I loves teh battlefield, but BF3 was a letdown in a lot of ways. Definitely not something i'll preorder this time.

Haven't played Battlefield since 1942.

To be honest, I haven't played a war game in several years. I quickly got burned out when we started being bombarded with the genre...

BF3 sucked ass in every way except visuals and the instant I came to that decision I uninstalled it and got that fucking Origin garbage off of my computer.

Fuck BF4.

Ditto.

Especially that netcode. Worthless garbage.

they released a couple of thoroughly pointless videos that may as well have been edited for vine, one of which showed a bit of a boat propeller through a grimey filter. didn't like this wacky marketing with bf3 and it seems even more abstract now.

have to admit origin was enough to put me off the series altogether. really enjoyed bf back in the day (sank 100s of hours into the desert combat mod and bc2) but have had enough now. if a game demands browser usage or comes with its own system tray client, it can fuck off, and if a game's backed by EA's squillion dollar advertising/monetizing juggernaut, i expect the infantry combat to feel like it's had more than an afternoon thrown at the netcode - especially after bc2's was comparatively sturdy. ubisoft's client isn't much better. had some problems with my account for fc3 which magically fixed itself moments before i got a douchey non-apologetic email from support, but by then i was playing chivalry - so ubisoft can fuck off as well. not buying any more games from either of them.

system tray clients from companies will that much cash have no excuse whatsoever for not being on general feature parity with steam from day one.

I hope it doesn't require Origin or a browser in the background I'm not sure if my modern gaming pc with the average 16GB of ram can handle it. I always have to shut down my browser and Steam before I play a game for optimal performance.

Battlefield 3 Premium is £20 at the moment. I've not really played it since they released the DLC after Karkand so I thought oh, this might be the thing to get me back into the game and added it to my Origin basket. Then I got to checkout and thought hang on, wtf am I doing? and loaded up Dota2 instead.

Fuck EA and fuck extortionate DLC.

UPlay sucks massive cock as well. It's funny...I get several free games from Ubi every few months and I'm using cracks for all of them.

Hey EA and Ubi...you can't compete with Steam. They beat you to the party and outclass you in every way...so fuck off with your shit wannabe pretender software.

I usually like Ubi games, they have storng brands.
But that UPlay failed before it launched, and now after a few years it's very clear that there really isn't a market for what they're trying to do with it.. which I'm not sure of what it is.

That's an opinion you'll have to form for yourself.
