lol, already regretting reading the book first. In the very first scene already I was like "but... but... no!"
Honestly though, I don't really regret it, because reading is much more fun when you don't know what's going to happen.

There were a few parts that had me confused. What town was it that Robb was inspecting the damage of? When did the girl who was after Renly end up doing whatever she is with the King? If they are together, then what is the deal with Sansa? When the hell did Selmy leave from Kings Landing?

Where did they leave Arya last season?

I thought the same as the scenes appeared, didn't sansa have a choice to leave ?. Started thinking I should have rewatched the end of series 2 and then started thinking I missed an episode ?

she's had a couple chances to get out, but hasn't taken them. Baelish offered to sneak her out when she still thought Joffrey wasn't an evil toolbag and then during the battle the Hound/Clegane offered to take her away... but he was drunk and looked a little rapey.

btw: this might help wiki of characters with pics

I'm not trying to be a dick or start shit, but could the book readers keep book comments in the book thread? I realize no spoilers were given, but even comments about skipped events can be disheartening to the viewer. Just a request...

will try... but fuck you all, that was in the show.

edit: also, that wiki i linked looks pretty safe and show-oriented. not making any promises on their behalf, but descriptions of a couple of the characters i clicked on would have been different if they referred to their portrayal in the books and seemed to cut off at s3ep1.

They skipped some epic material with Samwell. Guess they're still on a bit of a budget. The way the show shows those events is a bit confusing yeah.

The "town" was Harrenhal, but the show does a poor job of explaining what happened. We've seen Arya escape from Harrenhal at the end of season 2. Tywin Lannister, who was stationed at Harrenhal moved towards Kings Landing to defend against Stannis' attack. Now Harrenhal is deserted and Robb has come to inspect it. The girl is Margary Tyrell. She's betrothed to Joffrey, as part of an allegiance between the Lannisters and the Tyrell family. The Lannisters want the power of Highgarden (home of the Tyrells) to strengthen their grip on the realm.
Sansa is still at King's Landing, basically being the Lannisters' hostage. She no longer is to wed Joffrey, but that doesn't mean she's free to go.

Note that all of this information was shown and revealed at the end of season 2.

I'm still having issues with picturing the scale of some of these events. The miserably bitching bearded rapist crow harking on about two hundred odd dead fellows, requires quite the suspension of disbelief when you only ever see eight of 'em.
He is still her prisoner, being led around in shackles without control over his future or safety. I think he feared that someone would find them, just like they did after that fight, and thus return him to confinement.

Gotta picture Jaime as a man living in a world where women are being looked down upon when it comes to knighthood. Jaime is part of the Kingsguard, which makes him one of the most revered knihhts in the realm. He has his pride and just doesn't cope well with being a prisoner, certainly not if he's being shackled by a woman, especially not one as ugly as Brienne.

Also, he doesn't like how Brienne, being a woman, is trying to live a man's life. That's a reason why he keeps mocking her about her appearance.

Aye, what bit and eraser said, he's a man of honour and this whole being led around the country by a woman thing is incredibly humiliating.

I enjoy the hell out of their scenes, with the constant bickering and all that. Awesome

i'm not so convinced about the "man of honour" part, either. more like he's an admitted scumbag and likes to troll all the people around him that he considers naive/hypocritical. brienne is super earnest (e.g., she was in love with Gaylord Renley), so he likes fucking with her.

not sure what margery's game was at the end, wanting to play with joffrey's crossbow. kinky or smart?

also, notice how both robert baratheon and joffrey can't stop (or couldn't stop) reminding everyone they ever speak to that they're the king? it's like they're afraid people will forget or something. lol, monarchy

I haven't read the books (and I don't give a fuck if you did...so don't put a spoiler here ya twat) but I'd guess she's planning on using the crossbow to end Joffrey's reign...now she knows how to use it.

But she is a selfish, ambitious bitch so maybe she'll just stay quiet and enjoy the riches of royalty.

I dunno, something tells me the former is correct. Why else would she give a fuck what Sansa thought of him?

It's an evil ploy. She plans on boiling those kids alive and eating the flesh that falls off their bones.

That's what the bong told me...

But seriously she comes across as someone who is very calculating and does everything for a reason.

Plotting whore.

yeah, she seems to know the rabble doesn't like the Lannisters so if she wins them over they can't take her out. can't see real gain in her murdering Joff (with a crossbow) as long as Tywin is in charge. she and her family want the throne, not a beheading. questioning sansa just lets her know not not to be alone with him and how to manipulate him (done and done).
