In next week's episode, they find out that Renly Baratheon wasn't dead at all and he finally falls in love with Brienne because she's basically a dude. It all ends with a huge homosexual orgy involving Renly, Brienne, Eddard Stark (turns out he isn't dead) and Bran (Hodor does the work for him). Sorry for the spoilers.
So yeah, that last episode... aside from some pretty compelling shots at the wall and the continued degradation of poor old Theon, it felt mostly like filler to me. Left me unsatisfied, and it's probably the first episode of the series to do so. I know we're building up to exciting things here, but damnit, hurry up already.
Also, remarkably low violence / nudity count. That torture scene was superfuckingnasty though, sheesh
I just love Olenna Tyrell. She's getting more screentime in the TV episodes than in the book, which I really like. I loved her conversation with Tywin, just like her conversation with Varys. The bit with Varys and Littlefinger was clever too, but with them it's too much theater IMO.
Lol aye, i love every scene she's in, she's awesome

Yes. Though imo they'll need to reveal who he is and why he's doing it soonish, or risk these scenes becoming boring. Can't empathize very well if we lack motivation...

is it possible he got it right, but he really wasn't ready to stop fucking with him?
that's the impression I got when he was sitting down and looked at the blade in his hands.
yeah, iirc the karstarks are (mostly) dead at this point and rock much awesomer beards. don't remember this being a mystery in the not-to-be-mentioned novel(s). whatev. theon's a prick... but i was hoping they'd drop this particular sub-plot.
Biggest disappointment so far is Roose Bolton. In the series he's just an ordinary if somewhat bland character, while he should be a bit of a mysterious figure, with a whispering way of talking and who hooks himself to leeches once a day for no apparent reason.
